    Just use an oil-based paint to hide the damp for a few months.

    Then repeat

    and repeat

    and ... er .... repeat

    That's what Thais do

    thanks for input but surely this is a common problem as Thais dont seem to use DPC when building. Damp will gradually deteriorate blockwork if not treated. Will investigate further when I go over next time. Maybe an business opportunity for someone.
