Rip Ralph, condolences.
Ok a little update, sorry I,m still on me phone.
I have known and visited him several times over the years, he lived just south of Nong khai
He was a lovely character, brash and to the point, cracked me up with his stories from the village and the problems getting his new prosthetic leg through import duty etc.
Last year when I was over for 5 months I paid several visits and not once did he let on.
As ever he insisted I email him to let him know we got home safely, then he told me he didn't want to spoil our holiday by telling me earlier.
The initial diagnosis was a huge tumour wrapped around his windpipe and he was going home to the States to prolong his life a little, but would die there. His words.
Anyway I had emailed him through his treatment until the end, he seemed to have got through, came back to Thailand for Xmas but then shot back home, apparently fell over and died of complications.
He was about 65 is
Sorry if this is garbled, it's on my phone.
Ironically I have taken one of my Sil,s to the cancer hospital in Udon today.
Rip mate.
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
Far too young, sad.
Sorry to hear this. Very sad
Thanks for that, nigel...And we hear you loud and clear...Originally Posted by nigelandjan

Mabe a bit later on if I get a bit more info from his widow and mabe a photo IF she feels it appropriate I will post one on here for you .
Right I just want a bit of advice as to what I should do please
I have a couple of photos of my old mate Ralph in my possession ,, one is when he was a much younger man and the very last photo taken of him before he passed .
Now I have permission from his widow to post these on here if i want to .
What is the general consensus here ? would you like to see them ? would it be the right thing to do ?
I would like to see them...Can't see any down side to it...
Nice to have an update, again, nigel...Keeps him fresher in our memories...
Ralph used to live in my old village in Udon, didn't really know him well then, the last time I saw him was he was on his way to his job on his MC, but he seemed a good dude, getting by the best he knew how.
R.I.P Ralph
