Contrary to popular belief.. not all Americans have pearly white perfect veneers like 99% of people on television have.

That's a bit of an old thing. Most British young folk, i.e. under 40, are orthodontically blessed and a reflection of the expertise available to all at reasonable cost within a hybrid system of funding but in truth it is getting more expensive.

There is also a cultural thing here Boon. Americans are quite obsessed about their health and how they appear. I suppose this resolves to the inherent vacuity of your society wherein if anyone looks good, they must be good, hence all your politicians are airbrushed, manicured, depilated paragons of banality and your attractive women all look as if they have been produced from a production line combining pseudo Barbie dolls with some pneumatic latex derivative featuring big tits and pert buttocks.

Except Texans of course, who are either bovine or queer and smoke as if it is compulsory and don't give a fuck about their appearance since most there would probably fuck anything as long as it had a pulse.

Americans place much, much greater emphasis on cosmetic appearance.
