Smile Warren Clarke checks out RIP

Dalziel and Pascoe actor Warren Clarke dies aged 67

Star also known for A Clockwork Orange has died after short illness, his agent says

The actor Warren Clarke, known for his role in the TV drama Dalziel and Pascoe, has died at the age of 67.

The star, who also appeared in films such as Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, is said to have died after a short illness.

Oldham-born Clarke was also known for his starring role in the BBC series Down to Earth, about a family who leave the rat race to relocate to rural Devon.

His death was announced by the agency that handled his career, Independent Talent Group.

A statement issued on behalf of his agent said: “The actor Warren Clarke died peacefully in his sleep on 12 November 2014, after a short illness.

“He will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones. At this time we ask that you respect their privacy in their time of grief.”

In his early days as an actor, he had roles as two characters in Coronation Street in the late 1960s, before establishing his movie career as one of the thuggish droogs who enjoyed “ultraviolence” along with their ringleader Alex (played by Malcolm McDowell) in A Clockwork Orange.
I used to have a job at a calendar factory.
    I got the sack because
I took a couple of days off.

Unlike Holmes and Morse The Castleford sleuth was oft seen scrathcing his balls farting and scewing the witnesses, despite the shallow writing Clarke was a star and almost credible.

David: Why don't you put items such as this in the RIP thread. It would get more of an audience.

If you're banned it's because you fill every thread you post in with a load of babbling nonsense that everyone is tired of having to skip past.

Really enjoyed the characterisation of Dalziel. Larger than life bloke in a series that he made so popular and enjoyable.

Every time you feel obliged to read one of Dave's posts, have a cup of tea and a lie down instead.

It requires wit and a degree of intelligence to decipher his posts.

    Perhaps that's a problem?

I am saving up for a rehabilitation enema like our serious posters have daily I know it makes them seem anal and reprssed but they probably have so little to look forward to .

It must be tragic to look at a misanthrope in the shaving mirror and realize that's most reflective exegesis of their diurnal hermeneutics possible with a 12 volt attachment

The most memorable scene from Clockwork Orange for me was when he took the shears and cut off the sweater exposing the nipples of the lady. Good stuff that.

The era when movies were thought provoking, not long drawn out advertisements.

Zabrinski Point. Vanishing Point. A Man Called Horse. They shoot Horses Don't They. Little Big Man. Hustler. Hud. Who can forget Minnesota Fats...Last Picture Show,

    Great picks.

Chinatown is pretty relevant today what with the water shortages in California.
