Question how do you look at your world

Does this story really ever happen ?

Against many naysayers I like to think positive - it does !

Ask yourself if you're part of the solution or dissolution of humanity.

Enjoy a healthy Remembrance Day and never forget all who have served.

There are no unwounded soldiers. Amen.

Nice video, giving a little isn't to hard to do, and the benefits it can bring.

I must admit we do give, and not usually receive any thanks, but keep doing so.

    Choked me up a bit . . .

We try to do our bit by spending one week-end a month working for a charity, taking the kids to a hospital to play with the sick kids . . . but it isn't nearly enough

I find it odd how some might equate these decent social messages and feelings with the bizarre romantic notion towards war/militarism/soldiering....

These little digs at the military are getting quite tiresome Jeff. Unless you can improve your personal capacity for understanding an issue properly, it's probably best if you don't comment.

From a purely aesthetic perspective I would rather watch these commercials than some noisy trashy commercial but there does not seem to be much connection between the sentiments being evoked and the products they are being used to sell.

Life Insurance for the charitable guy and Mobile Phone Service for the soup stall guy?

The advertising strategy seems to be 'Here is a nice story, oh and by the way we are selling some stuff, please buy it if you enjoyed the story'.

The fact that the stories were dreamt up by an ad agency for the purposes of increasing market share for a client through bogus association by appealing to our emotions of charity and justice actually gives the whole thing a vaguely unpleasant after-taste from a certain perspective although I can't deny the emotional appeal of the stories.

If you choose to think of the commercials as simply short films with a corporate sponsor I guess it is not so bad.

Looper, corporations touch almost every iota of media that one watches from the shoes an actor is wearing to the cellphone the actress is talking on to the tablet the secret agent is downloading information from to the automobile the love-lorn star is driving to the suit 007 Bond is wearing to the gun Det Callahan is pointing at the perp's face prior to the inquiry , "Are you feeling lucky, punk ? Are ya."

So yes, I do think of the very short videos with sentimental tones as being available through a sponsor , one way or another.

Commercials like that wouldn't make me buy anything, just like the story.

I don't even know who the commercial is made by - though I watched it. For me the result is simply to be more generous in my time and perhaps money to those much less fortunate.

Did the commercial have an effect? Yes, but maybe not the desired one for the company

I am with you Todd. This is a great commercial and I wonder who is responsible for its content. It makes me want to donate to a just and real cause whenever I see it on TV. Good job to the persons writing and producing it.

    It's a Thai life-insurance company (see end of video - 2m57s).

Vulcher's, Life Insurance Companies. Head and shoulders above Bankers in the category of blood suckers...advert agencies, lawyers, priests, used car salesmen, realtors, politicians, government employees, Warren Buffet, and loan sharks.

Did I miss any? Sad stories for suckers...adopt a kid send $5 and you can feed 10 Nigerian peckerwoods.

    Loopers got it exactly right.

Here's one which is pretty good too..

What most foreigners won't get is the scene where the thai guy and gurl are together and the guy gives the gurl a headband. When she puts it on, it's not that she's ugly, it's that she's got a HIGH forehead.

Every thai in this country males & females know the old wive's tale; the higher a gurl'z forehead the larger the "love cave" (ถ้ำรัก) is between her legs. If the stories are to be believed, you could probably drive a mini-cooper into that gurl'z 'cave'...

I have personally taken it upon myself to "vet" this old wives tale, but as of yet the data is inconclusive.. More spelunking is required to really get to the bottom of it.

    I'll get back to you..
"Whoever said `Money can`t buy you love or joy` obviously was not making enough money." <- quote by Gene $immon$ of the rock group KISS

Utter sentimental crap all of them on a par with the shite they play before the main movie. Thais are such suckers for this rubbish and don't seem to have the ability to ask 'why'.

^But it wasn't. It wasn't a nice day. It was a little bit cloudy. Which makes him very sar-carstic. I hate people being sar-carstic.

Although to be fair maybe it was a relatively nice day for Glasgow.

I actually love this guy, his performances in " The Young Ones" made me piss with laughter.
