    With you on that Terry.

    Birds are a dime-a-dozen.

Not so easy finding a keeper.

Maybe I'll pull a Sharky, and keep a harem. Although I aint paying 'em.

    Mate,

Don't go down the path of paying whores, Leave that for the mongering scum.

Plenty of real good girls around, just take your time.

No rush is there, being single is enlightening when approached properly.

From the sound of it, she is a better catch for a farang than most. Finding a female that is financially independant is worth a lot in Thailand. That being said, if the chemistry is not there, I would move on. If it is there, stick around for awhile and see where this ride takes you.

I found a good lady, but she was not financially independant and I did not care. I stuck around for awhile and we are now married and have been together for 9 happy years. More than I can say for my western marriage. BTW, the first 7 years could be considered a long distance relationship.

I always thought that a man's man would always bring up the serious topics while one is far off from his 'intended one'...yeah, over the internet or on the phone.
    (sarcasm intended).

Baas, you were here on holidays , alive and in person with her and you didn't man up to have these most important discussions about your relationship and potential life together ?

    Get a grip , boy - what were you thinking...or weren't you ?

In hindsight take Neverna's reply as a starting point.

Hopefully you will learn the important lesson of how to properly discuss important issues particularly if you think you want a future with someone.
Even enemies meet face to face for important discussions.

Even if you want to break it off - do so in person (face-to-face).
In the end you'll have more self-respect...and will feel better (JIHMO).

Good luck Baas on the road of life.

PeeCoffee - we were enjoying each others' company, and generally relaxing. At the time (and stage of the relationship) I didn't think it necessary to ask the 'serious questions'.

After leaving Thailand I did give it some thought, started this thread, and got some useful advice. I followed that up with the email to her.

She seems to find it puts pressure on her to talk about future potentials - marriage, finances, property, kids (actually I didn't ask about kids - although she mentioned in person she's reaching the cut-off stage).

Hey - maybe I'm the one taking things too seriously. Take one of my chill pills, hang with mates, do the work that's putting the filthy lucre in the bank, head back to Thailand in January, and see how things roll.

Never not been with an (unpaid) woman in Thailand over the course of 10+ visits, so no need for ho's. If things aint working out I'll move on. Plenty of fish and all that.

baas, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Perhaps you are beginning to dream things were there that are not.

take off your rosy glasses and let her go.

Hear ya loud and clear, felllas.

If there's anything on the go when I get back to Thailand we'll go from there. I'm usually the ditcher, not ditchee - I get bored of bints easily.

Anyways, I'm in China for a bit, doing a contract for an airline so I get to mix with plenty of pretty stewardess fluff.

And there's loads of eye candy - tourists and locals alike.

Might just walk away from this one. Unless she makes a concerted effort to show she's committed AKA gives a shit.

That is why you need to find one whose personality delights you. But the enthusiasm has to be 2-way.

I think she already has. Put on your trainers and learn how to make new friends.

Yeah - we respectively said our "Merry Christmas and have a nice life" this weekend. She wanted to stay friends. I told her I don't maintain friendships with ex-girlfriends.

Back to the single life, innit.

I used to think that is was good to remain friends with Ex girlfriends but realized it really is pointless.

Used to piss me off knowing they were sucking someone else's cock.

    Rather not know.
