    Mick Jagger friggin living legend

The Rolling Stones are at this moment touring Australia, last night they completed their second concert in Perth.

Mick Jagger is 71 years old yet is performing and strutting around the stage like he was back in the Sixties. Both Perth concerts received top notch reviews and sold out the venue, they played for 2 hours plus.

They received the top reviews not just because they are rock gods but because of the fantastic first class concert they put on.

Jagger especially was singled out for his amazing fitness and showman ship at 71.

Jesus, so many punters are mostly dead at 71 simply because they have let them selves morph into fat useless bastards, smoking up a storm and propping up bar stools.

Just goes to prove that with a bit of self respect and discipline leading a fulfilling life at 70 + is certainly achievable.

    Respect to Jagger.

In agreement. I've never been to a stones concert, but would look forward to it if the opportunity presented itself.

It might also help Jagger's cause that he probably has a few buzzillion in assets. I think my outlook on life as my age advances might be more optimistic in that situation.

Friend of mine and his wife flew over from Bangkok for the concert. They said it was fantastic! They had great seats, and posted some superb photos on their Facebook page. I would have loved to have seen it!

He is one of a kind ! I remember watching a documentary about him years ago , the camera followed him around and they went to this very very lavish garden party where this tart on the gate was dishing out the Krug to all the punters entering , Jagger politely declined his in favour of a glass of Perrier water with ice

I also many many years ago knew a session musician who used to tour with them to be an emergency back up man playing behind the curtain , just incase anything went wrong live out front and he told me about some real rock and roll Jagger got up to when driving round NY in a limo with him ,,, VERY different Jagger in them days but he sure sorted himself out and must do a punishing fitness regime to stay on top .

Proud he is an Englishman !

Unlike that drunken nonentity Gascoine who is just about hanging on to life via the next drop of alcohol
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

Yea, he is a credit to the English, he hasn't blown to a blimp like Elvis did, hasn't blown his brain apart like so many others, hasn't been a slave to the bottle like uncountable others before him, tremendous disciple to keep himself fit and lean. I doubt if I could have that sort of self imposed disciple.

I agree with Terry , a true rock legend ,and at 71 there would be few that could keep up to him ,I know I would not last 5 minutes.

Jagger may be able to buy privilege but he certainly cannot buy his health or fitness levels.

Combine that with his brain power to actually remember his vast musical back log and incredible enthusiasm, you have one very exceptional human.

His fitness levels and health one can put down to pure hard work and very good genes.

We had a 70 year old front line firefighter who was more fitter and capable than many guys much younger.

Dudes still front line and fit as simply because he really looks after him self. Have a few hard core dedicated personal like that though most Aren't front line.

I'm trying to be like Jagger but unfortunately I can't sing.

Can certainly keep fit though and make the effort.

Life is much better when keeping ones self fit and able.

To let ones self to turn into a fat fuk is a death sentence and not worthy.

I was thinking more along the lines of facilities than privilege. The possibilities of a home fitness center that he could afford boggles the mind.

In my case, due to budgetary concerns, space limitations, etc., I need to do my exercise in the great outdoors. The heat and humidity here make that very intimidating, but not out of the question. For those that really want to sweat big time, I suppose that's just the ticket.

I am definitely pro-fitness. Back in the home country I regularly worked out 5 times a week at gyms for 25 years before retiring in Thailand. I really wish the nearest air con gym was closer than hours away from here though. I am renting now, but contemplating the possibilities of building a house, in which case a decent exercise bike and a universal gym machine in an air conditioned spare room would be worth considering. I don't think it will come close to the scale of a Jagger home fitness center though.

    Mate,

The lazy person always make the excuse that it's too hot, to far to go to the gym, they cant afford a gym pass, its too cold, they have a head ache, their arse hurts or a myriad of other piss poor excuses.

I work out in an outside gym with old but functional gym equipment, I pay 200 baht a month.

Maybe 200 meters away is a fully Aircon'ed Gym complete with all the latest equipment with people dressed up in lycra using it.

The locals that use the outside Gym are dead serious about their fitness, they don't need no wanky A/C gym with new Equipment, they just get into it, many of the members are in exceptional condition.

Some of the older members are inspirational.

Hardly any farang at the local outside gym, I really like that aspect. They are looking into mirrors up the flash end of town looking at their lycra pants.

To spin it as too Jagger being in superb condition because he can afford the best fitness equipment is a bit of a laugh actually.

He is what he is simply because he works his arse off keeping fit so he can continue to perform his stage show.

You could do it too if you stop making excuses.

Fit and healthy he may be, but the sight of the geriatric Jagger and his band prancing around dressed like teenage popinjays is cringeworthy. They havent written a decent song in decades and are sadly stuck in a rather sad timewarp. Churning out the same old songs may satisfy the needs of ageing groovers attempting to re-live their youth, but frankly their performances are something of an embarrassment.

One can only feel sorry for the only band member to age and act with dignified grace, Charlie Watts, who looks increasingly ill at ease performing alongside these mummified yet hyperactive relics.

Their circus like concerts are increadingly reminiscent of those end of the pier revival shows featuring Marty Wilde, Gerry and the Pacemakers and Val Doonican.

The Stones were of their time, but that time was at least 30 years ago, and the hysteria and hero worship generated by the media and eagerly bought into by simple minded fans merely highlights the fact that playing adolescent orientated rock and roll is unbecoming of 70 year olds

In fact, its just not rock n roll anymore.

Kieth Richards should off died of a drug overdose many years ago. He admits this fact.

Brilliant that he straightened up and today is still knockin out the tunes.

On stage the other night Jagger said it was great to be back in Perth, Richards throws in, " Its great to be anywhere. "

    So true that EH.

Maybe he is so fit in his older years due to all the cardiovascular exercise he did getting analyzed by David Bowie for all those years?

Steaming load of complete shit that mate. Many in the Audience where of the young generation so the Stones appeal is far reaching.

Further more the Australian reviewers are ruthless and unforgiving.

If the stones had put on a sub par performance the Print media would of tore them another arsehole no question about that. Also the social media would of reported the true story.

Not to be, all reports where of a top notch fully professional concert.

If you where referring to Bob Dylan I agree with you totally.

That bastard should be shot for what he passes off as a concert these days.

Nope, no reports of Richards playing shit guitar.

I not sticking up for them but merely countering your pathetic uninformed posts as innuendo and being penned by a person that was not at any of the Australian concerts.

I was not either but have followed all their concerts through print media, news media and Social comment.

Naah, their songs should be sung by 20 year olds, not old geezers like Jagger.
70 year olds should be writing and singing music relevant to their age group, based on their experiences and reflections of life, not singing about sex and drugs and rock n roll.

How come they havent written any decent stuff in 30 years?
Because they are washed out, thats why. Reliving their old glories is what they do, and its nothing to really get so excited about, its nostalgia, its a greatest hits night before going home for a cup of cocoa and going to bed with a crossword or book.

Dont delude yourself that you are in the presence of gods, they are just churning out old hits and relieving you docile, bovine and eadily led punters of a shitload of wedge.

Jesus, the music, apart from a few classic greats is not that exceptional. What they did so well was tap into the zeitgeist of the era, it was more about attitude than music.
How much were the t shirts again?
