I have skin cancer. Where can I buy Fluorouracil?

    Hey all.

Mods...I posted this in the Phuket forum as well as that is where I live. However I am quite desperate to commence treatment with this drug and so if anyone elsewhere knows where to buy this drug I would welcome the information.

I have a history of skin cancer, all of which I previously had treated back home.

I am searching for a Pharmacy that sells Fluorouracil.

There are many brands for this drug. For example:

    Carac
    Fluoroplex
    Effidix

I have already tried most of the major Pharmacies here in Phuket so it may be that I have to widen by search to include BKK.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Cheers

    GT

What sort of skin cancer do you have?

Are you looking for this drug as a chemo drip for " proper" cancers or as a topically applied cream to reduce pre malignant solar keratoses or local basal cell carcinomas, which although malignant, rarely metastasize?

I'm fairly sure he just wants to know if anyone knows where to buy that particular product.

    Anybody?

If you cannot find it in a Pharmacy in Thailand you will be able to buy on an online indian pharmacy and have it posted to you.

If someone has cancer, one would expect them to seek the advice of a doctor. Skin cancer presents in many different ways, and there is a specific treatment regime for each.

Given the fact that Thailand is flooded with fake pharmacies staffed by fake pharmacists lining their filthy pockets by selling counterfeit medications to stupid customers, the fact that someone suffering from something as potentially life threatening as skin cancer would seek advice on a lowrent expat forum with a membership consisting of an unusually high proportion of deadbeat wasters rather than a hospital based oncologist does indeed mark him out as somebody one slice short of a loaf.

    A bit like you Fozzy.

^^ Try reading the OP. His history of skin cancer goes way back. He stated that he'd had treatment for it back in his home country already, implying that he's probably already seen countless doctors. He wasn't asking for advice about his skin cancer he was asking where he could buy a specific treatment, I would assume one that he's used before on the advice of a doctor.

If you think that bored twats telling him to tip piss on his head and calling him a psycho served any purpose other than to relieve their boredom for 30 seconds you are mistaken.

Anyway, I clearly said my rant was over and you may all carry on.

Not available here according to this.
    1. Yes, not available here. The only preparation available for AK that I am aware of here is Aldara (imiquimob) ( See http://www.aafp.org/.../0901/p667.html ). While and diclofenac 3% gel also works, I haven't seen any diclofenac gels in that strength here, they all seem to be 1% and intended for muscle aches etc.

    What fluorouracil is
Fluorouracil is also known as FU or 5FU and is one of the most commonly used drugs to treat cancer. It is used to treat many types of cancer including, breast cancer, head and neck cancers, anal cancer, stomach cancer, colon cancer and some skin cancers.

It may be combined with other cancer drugs or with radiotherapy.

    How fluorouracil works
Fluorouracil is part of a group of chemotherapy drugs known as anti metabolites. Anti metabolites are similar to normal body molecules but they have a slightly different structure. These differences mean that anti metabolites stop cancer cells working properly. They stop the cells making and repairing DNA. Cancer cells need to make and repair DNA so that they can grow and multiply.

    Tests during treatment
You have blood tests before starting treatment and regularly during your treatment. The tests check your levels of blood cells. They also check how well your liver and kidneys are working.
Doesn't sound like some drug you can self medicate on

I buy Aldara and Efudix online from an Indian pharmacy, buypharma1. I suffer from basal cell carcinoma. Aldara is better. Efudix and liquid nitrogen are good in the early stages. Lately I have been using Black Suave which I buy online from the US.

Thanks Pragmatic for the link to the Thaivisa thread. I already saw that. I tried yesterday to no avail to buy some fluorourcil, as I have used that in the past back home. I have a history of skin cancer, including a full on malignancy cut out and subsequent chemo injections. I know the ropes. At present I have a spot on my face that I want to hit with Flourourcil. The the others speculating in the thread I am just chasing the 5% topical cream. It works well. However, after no success yesterday I read the thread on Thaivisa and decided today I would try and see if I can buy some Imiquimod (aldara or zyclara). Thanks for the input on that Mackayae. But I think that stuff is bloody expensive. We shall see...

Also if anyone knows a good doctor for skin cancer in Phuket please let me have their details.

And finally, this thread was my first ever post on this forum. It was an honest and simple request that was met with a barrage of trash talk and poison.

I know a good one (lady) in the North. I had it really for few months foolishly disregarded since the ear had always bled e.g. after washing. She had to cut twice and later again transfer a skin from another ear.

And same foolish disregarding of my nose was two years later, my nose was later sewn as of Frankenstein's, after few weeks nothing to be seen.

Don't be so hard on yourself.

You posted this in completely the wrong thread, that's all.

You probably should post it here.

Indeed, self medicating with these creams is not the way to go.

Liquid nitrogen cryotherapy or ablation/excision should remove these annoying lesions once and for all before they get too unmanageable.

Regular examination by a competent dermatologist should pick them up early, and any suspicious moles too.

Un fucking believable. I made a post on this thread yesterday but then deleted it half way through because I couldn't be bothered to argue about it. Word for word I wrote this:

"I've seen it a thousand times before, a newbie asks a question and people shit all over the thread with pointless comments because they're bored. The OP then replies back how they shouldn't bother replying if they didn't have an answer. Then a small pack of hungry chihuahuas attack the OP telling him he's too delicate for TD, he doesn't understand the TD way and that he should fuck off back to TV."

I swear on my son's life that's what I wrote but didn't end up posting. How can people be so fucking predictable?

I was then going to go and point out how many decent people who may have gone on to be great contributers to the forum, are chased off just because bored knobs aren't capable of ignoring serious threads that are asking questions they don't have any answers for. Never mind, we'll always have Willy instead.

What a load of tosh, how can we chase you off? We have tried to get rid of you on numerous occasions - you just won't fuckin' go.

You just keep popping up with a new nic hoping your past psychopathic rants have been forgiven.

I think the OP should head for a doctor, he is now requesting that info and that is the correct place to look.

I have not seen you, Fozzy, looking on TD for head medication for your madness.
