No of fence taken as I don't, believe you have the intellectual ability to insult me. Having gotten that out of the way, I will get back to the subject at hand. You can spin this any way you like but the fact is the missionaries in South Korea are forcing no one to do anything, they are sharing what they believe with the local people. If you want to talk about forcing people into any particular belief North Korea would be a much better topic of discussion.
But carry on spin doctor, by the way what flavor is the cool aid this month.
I guess South Korea, and why not every country, should through off all foreign influences and stick with what is endemic. Ban foreign religions, symbols, languages, food, technology and ideas. The world would be a better place.
By the way, how did Buddhism get all the way to Korea?
You needn't compare Buddhism with Christianity.
Two different beast...
In Korea's case - Buddhism, like other Asian spirituality is a natural fit for Asian cultures and mindsets.
I believe Betty was attempting to suggest that a true foreign [backward] entity is incredibly disruptive to the natural order of things.
That's laughable. Who makes subjective judgments like that?Originally Posted by thaimeme
What Betty is exhibiting is an intolerance toward Christianity in Korea because he thinks it was forced upon unwitting Koreans by Americans. In fact Christianity has a very long history on the Korean penninsula.
Does Buddhism teach intolerance?
