So I need to make Lard. I need to render lard, I think.
I need the lard in the state that it looks like soft butter.
I've read the links and I've watched the Youtube videos but they all seem to end when they pour the lard, like it's water, into jars.
What are they going to use it for from jars?
Do I just get to that point, pour it into a tub and stick it in the fridge and it sets like butter?
I believe it's healthier than butter.
What do I ask for in the market/supermarket? Am I buying fat to make lard or buying lard to render into... rendered lard??
Has anyone done this?
I'd appreciate a few pointers.
