    The Final Chapter

My life has run in a series of well-defined chapters, each one radically different from the previous and each one ending with me being totally broke and in the shit.

A bit of 'wow, what a ride'. Except it happens at the end of each chapter.

Now I'm tired off all the crap. Tired of hypocrisy, tired of obnoxious culture of most stripes, tired of muzzies, jews, christians, bhuddists, ipads, itrads, wars, the whole bloody shebang.

So my final chapter (hopefully) starts.

Dig myself outta the crap - that gets harder each time as I get older. Try to get back to where I really belong in 6-9 months.

Sounds a bit like a Hemingway story - The Snows of Kilimanjaro.

Give us a bit more detail about the circumstances that brought you to this point.

Better advice and or opinions can then be given.

In my experience most people can make their own luck.

Not sure why, but it seems that some of the posts were removed from this thread.

Anyway in reply to one of the posters who seemed to want to know more about my reference to Hemingway and The Snows of Kilimanjaro.

It was simply a casual observation, not knowing the original poster and not being sure which direction the thread was going in. There are some similarities to the story:

    - photo of elephants in scenery with what appears to be Kilimanjaro in the distance
    - Hemingway's main character in the story reminiscing about past experiences
    - Hemingway himself being a bit of an adventurer

Other than that, nothing in particular spurred the initial comment.

Ya think dealing with Africans will any better?

Two of my favorite sayings I've tried lived my life by are: "no matter where you go, there you are" and "attitude is everything".

The janitor at a car dealership walks into the GM's office and says:
"Now which one of you fine gentlemen is going to buy me lunch today?" That be attitude.

    Good luck with the enterprise.

Throughout our lives, we've all come to crossing points or yearn for a change of direction - sometimes for the betterment, sometimes not.

Good luck towards your new start and mid-life journey, FF.

Fukkit. That was the toughest one yet. Bloody money source sorted. For life. however long that may be. Hate the stuff. Never will it sink me again. Fuck the $.

But it was close. I'm now an expert on suicide methods. Not because of depression, coz I came close to not being able to make it.

Now the climb up starts. Been sitting in a room for 3 years sorting this shit. Cost me everything. Gotta start walking, sort out plenty shit that's been piling up.

The final fukkin chapter better be worth it.

East Africa is wonderful and magical. My parents lived in Uganda for fifteen years, and got out as Idi Amin got in. We have, as a family, a love for it that goes deep. My brother was born there. I spoke Swahili before i spoke English.

All the best with your next chapter - who knows, it may not be the last!

Keep it interesting, and try to be happy for a few minutes each day, even if you're laughing at the previous chapters.

Hey FF, I've always wondered mate.

You know when you're on those African safaris and bunked up in the middle of the bush.

How do you go in the middle of the night if one wants to back out a massive Poo. ??

I mean, there's lions and other nasty creatures out there EH.

Snap it in a bag and throw the offending article out of the tent or what ?

    Just wondering.

Life is nothing more than an interminable ride along a bad road occasionally stopping at a service station thinking the next one can't be as bad as the last. Eventually, you run out of juice and there's no more breakdown recovery. Some travel in a pick up, some in limousines, but it don't matter which, the end is always the same.

Final chapter? Hell, just keep turning the page.

Thx all. It's slow going as I'm trying to sort out, first of all where I'm going. Not geographically but in the bigger sense. I have to now recover health-wise, sort out a lot of paperwork , get my ass up to Bkk etc.

My energy level is the problem. This last 3 yrs have destroyed me. Energy comes from being driven to a vision. At 60+ that's tricky. I have no intention of just drifting off into old age, zero point in that. Unfortunately money does not turn me on, neither does material possessions.

So I'm trying to find a direction, as I say other than geographic. Not much i haven't done. If I can find that then all will fall into place.
