Thread: Post Deleted

Today I made a post on World News. I made it immediately after Sky News announced that Israel had launched a ground offensive in Gaza. I expressed no opinions and my post was purely informative.

Why was it deleted, please ? If this wasn't world News, what the hell is ?

No, I was telling people that this had happened at the very instant I knew. Whoever deleted this post is a clown. Earth shattering news deleted because of some idiot's interpretation of rules.

There was NO BLOODY LINK ! It had just been announced on TV as a live broadcast !

That's why it was deleted.

If it happened to be a new thread, then I believe a link is required. This I assume is to prevent members from concocting their own stories.

It certainly is news.

I posted about the Malaysian plane being shot down in the thread about Malaysian air, with a link and that got deleted

I too struggle with mod decisions but at the end of the day they're right, even if they're wrong.

Even DD was adamant about the news section. No link, it's deleted. Quite simple really.

Another case of the missing link.

At 8.40 Sky News reporters said that they "thought something was happening". At 8.45, they said that Netanyahu had just announced the invasion. I reported it so that people could know the news. It did not appear online for fully thirty minutes later and I had no link available.

In future I will not report news as it seems that stupid rules are more important than it.

Because I am an intelligent human being who wanted to impart important world news to others without needing to abide by rules thought up and implemented by dopes.

It was all about telling people about it. Do you regard the news as being important and of global importance ? Or, is your overriding consideration "rules is rules" ?

Why didn't you just post it in one of the other threads about Israel and Palestine?

I may be cranky but I am not stupid. Why should I post World News in a thread that was not "World News" ? Rules are made mainly to control stupid people. I told readers of Teak door this important news before any source on the Internet could report it. I did the right thing and the reasonable people here will agree that I did.

Anyway, sod it ! If the Martians invade South Wales, I'll keep it to myself.

You are just angry because you wanted to be the first one to post the story .
You wanted to post the story quickly before anyone else did , and you could risk waiting 30 minutes for it too appear on news websites, just incase anyone on TD posted the story first, before you did
