    Thailand is in recession
    tourism is right down
    300,000 trucks idle
    foreign investment applications down 30%
subject to mild diplomatic sanctions from the US, EU & Oz
Tier 3 (the lowest) on the human trafficking index
People are being held incommunicado, without charge and trial
media censorship is draconian- even facebook 'likes' are being threatened
there is no right of peaceful assembly
the junta has no transparency, or accountability to either the law or public under it's seized powers

    No, nothing earth shattering tez.

    No, nothing earth shattering tez.
All this could be easily mirrored under a "normal" Thai civilian government.
Frankly, there isn't too much difference between suppression under a militaristic junta and so-called democratic state.

One only needs to look deeper and realistically into contemporary Thai history.
    Nothing changes much.

After what I have seen in my business over the past fortnight the best comment I can add to this thread is "I cannot possibly say anything detrimental about this government."

Now over to the fish thread until the next election.

It's great to have the subjective, unbiased input from the likes of terry57.
It gives us outsiders a really good grasp of the situation.
    Namely; terry57 is alright.

Good news for his mother, I'm sure.

Exactly, but the EU, the US and OZ try to uphold there alleged "democratically elected government" farce for the sheeple.

    When...? Where?

    Free to what?

Mine would probably ground me for a month and spend most of that time washing my mouth out with soap.

    Bless her.
