you have to admit that the coup leaders are expediting certain urgent social issues, which makes it for a nice change from the usual inertia of the Thai government, even under PT leadership.

Village people are usually asleep by 8pm, so I can hardly see how the curfew could affect them. Others on here will tell you they are being rounded up and used for mortar practice though.

Walked around Lumpini Park this morning,

Old people hanging out exercising, aerobics nutters going for it, the ball room dancers having a wow of a time, heaps of people walking and running, the gym junkies doing their thing and overall everyone enjoying themselves.

Nope, did not see any tanks today. Same as yesterday and the day before that.

I can see how people working in Thai administration would be affected directly, hopefully both sides feeling threatened

both groups have been acting beyond silly and it's time they feel the guilt over this and understand that "Democracy" doesn't mean you can throw your feces to the others just because you feel like it.

Democracy is a privilege and as such should be respected, and for that to happen, you need to respect the opposition and the others views. Democracy is about sharing power and responsibilities, not win an election or support one side at all cost.

Pointless having a coup if you're not going to show your tools. People might feel duped.

So including only our regular members - most voted for no or minor impact and 10% voted for a medium negative change.

So so far - pretty much not much change for most people.

Tis as I thought - cheers for voting people.

Yet it's nothing new to the population. Another novelty for them to absorb and ignore.

I reckon Thaksin stole elections just like bush- you can't respect a vote if it's rigged.

Like my summation of this poll, I didn't include the shill tossers (who all voted HUGE NEGATIVE IMPACT! surprisingly )

Thaksin was kicked out cos he was bent. He then put his brother in power and then his sister/daughter.

You wouldn't even consider accepting that in your home country - but for some reason think it's all peachy here.

The little fvcker with the glasses who lasted about 2 months - can't remember his name.

But if it was his brother in law then I take back what I said - it obviously must have been an honest coincidence

But he was the most senior civil servant in Thailand under the (democrat) Chuan Leekpai administration- hardly a nobody. No doubt Thaksin's rise to fortune helped his clan, but it is no secret that Thaksin married 'up', to a Potjaman.

Do you really, really think he got there by merit?

I reckon he was put there

But don't get me wrong - western politics is soaked in the same sickness. Dictatorship under the guise of a free and open democracy.

the people of Thailand voted for a voluntary dictatorship in 2001 under Thaksin, so what's wrong with that new unelected dictatorship in 2014 ?

    same same, but different players

You will have a nice time reviewing your posts when every thing returns to normal, same as it has done every-time after after a Coup.

When I say normal I refer to " Normal for Thailand " and not the rest of the World.

Trouble with you guys is that you think Thailand should operate the same as Western Countries.

Fuk that, If this was the case there would be no farang living here and it would be boring as fuk.

You fuk ups want it both ways don't you.

Nope, nothing different today in Bangkok, no Army killing people and no tanks crushing cars.

    Its all good.

Oh there is one difference, there is a distinct lack of tourists around.

    I love that.

Yes - youre spot on there mate.

The only suffering going on here is caused by big drop in tourists due to the western agenda'd media scaring everyone off.

    Fvcking ironic really.
