Just spent 30 minutes on the phone with my Mom. 91 today! Unchanged, sharp as a tack, funny, totally up to speed on the world news - unchanged....I am blessed. Happy Birthday, Mom...and thanks!

Nice for you DK (and her).
Never had the chance for that myself.
Wow! 91......and to put up with you, Davis, all those years.
Even though she probably did a decent job...
HBD Mama Knowlton!!!
she did a great job ,your lucky to have her and the link to your early years
we don't really appreciate them until the end.Nice post
Cheers, Knowltons...
Thanks all. I rarely regret the distance I live from America, but like all good sons, I do miss my Mom. And a long-suffering Mom she was..............
Wow, great innings. Hope she's well for many more
Happy birthday to you Davis's Mom!!!!!! Davis, that's great that she's living well and enjoying herself.
Thanks for all the nice comments, both here and elsewhere. Good genes indeed....her Mom passed at 104 and her Dad at 98. Both of her Mom's sisters passed the 100 mark. All in good health until the end.
Such a nice thread among all the bad news, lost planes and dog house bullshit.
My mum and dad are in their late 80's and still doing well.
I know your pain Dave by being so far away but I am blessed with an elder sister who takes care of things on behalf of my parents.
Many Happy returns to your mum mate and I hope she enjoys many more birthdays.
^Nice that your parents are doing well! I too am blessed with two siblings who live very close to Mom, so she is very well taken care of and never lacking for company.
Great post DK. She sounds like a very special lady. Thanks for sharing.
many happy returns to your mam my mam will be 86 soon and i have booked a flight home to surprise her. as my dad passed recently ( rip bert ), i'm gonna stay with her for a while which i think will perk her up, but the wife's not too happy but hey ho!
^Great idea! I took the family across the pond 3 years ago for her 88th - great trip! Hope to go again in the next year or two.
Happy Birthday Mother Knowlton and many more to come.
Many more happy returns to your Mum, Davis.
(Just spoke to mine on the 'phone, trying to tell her that we aren't in a war zone, just yet).
Nice one Davis, you only get 1 mum ,
Yes, mate, echoing bld - you only get one, so spoil her and enjoy your time with her. Me ma and me always had at least one chuckle a day - and nary a cross word, either.
Bless me ma - and bless yours, too, mate!
Good on ya, eh!
Onya DK.
You're a good guy EH.
Cheers.
