^Diverticulitis. Never had a stomach problem for 62 years. Not a twinge. Then, one day I got the shits, and I couldn't shake it. Thought it was food poisoning, but nothing worked. Finally went to a doc - blood in stool. Diagnosis was diverticulitis, which I had never heard of. Tried everything for a few months, but it just wouldn't respond to antibiotics - to which I usually respond very well.

Within a couple of months, no choice but surgery. It was a mess. What was to be a 1.5 hour operation went over 4. Operation was perfect. Recovery sucked.

Many people can control it for years with antibiotics when it flares - I wasn't one of them.

I got 90! Better cut down on the Chang and cig's if i'm going to be that old farang at the end of the bar.

Yeah they gave me 2 types of antibiotics and it worked. Can only get one of them in Thailand though. Can be really painful so glad you got sorted.

^I never had any pain. Just couldn't stop shitting. After surgery, it was even worse. Six months of never-ending shits. Weight dropped from 180 to 124. Then, I stroked out.

Yes, in the UK. You give away 10 years+ just by moving to Thailand. Make it count.

In Australia the Government is in the process of changing the retirement age to 70.

What that means is that you can retire earlier is you want but cannot access ones Super. One must self fund until 70.

So at age 70 the average Australian worker who has payed Super from age 21 will be a Muliti million air .

Trouble is the People will be 70 years old and not needing all that money.

One needs access to money at 55 so one can Truly enjoy ones life whilst fit and healthy.

The system is so fuked. I'm incredibly lucky I am able to enjoy my retirement now.

I'm giving it shit for 15 years and if I make 70 I'll be a happy man.

If I don't make 70 then it proves that My thinking on Early retirement is solid and if I do make 70 my thinking is still solid.

My grandfather died from a heart attack at the age of 45. My father did the same at age 63. Now I am 58.

Last year I took a total physical at Bangkok General Hospital. Head to butt. Came to the treadmill exercise and soon the nurse said "Stop hillbilly you have passed." I said 'No, I do not want to pass, I want an A."

Passed with flying colors, but who knows?

I will quit working in two years. Hopefully, with my investments here in Thailand and whatever I get out of the US Social Security system I should be ok.

But then again I have a Thai wife and 50/50 daughter.

Chances are I will croak while trying to make a bah
