That's when Slaps left the UK, but he's back now, so expect the UK to reenter the top 10 for the 2014 chart...

Poor sods can't afford a drink.

We should send donations. Red Cross parcels.

Same as a small beer in Soi Cowboy then!

Here Happy Hour in most UK/Irish themed pubs is £2.20 for Hieneken, and not exactly Real Ale!

We're comparing the price of alcoholic drinks, not drain cleaner.

4 pounds and thirty five pence for a pint of Guinness in Korea.

4 pounds and fifty five pence for a Guinness in Bangkok.

Just talking about the places I drink/drank(/drunk?).

    £2 a flipping can in Britain ...
only scum getting (faked) disability welfare can afford to sup it all day.
Government recently also put a punitive tax on all beers over 4.8%- a piss taking low level-
so most beer is now sold at this gay level, even bottles of 'imported' Tiger ,Singha etc

Of course uk in dropping in the charts -
the non drinking immigrants have diluted the average .

9 percent alcohol is sick making. In a can, even a good bottle of wine hasn't got that.

Best pint of Guinness in my city at a proper old Irishmans pub costs £2.80. Can get draught real ale round the corner at a Camra pub for £2.60-£3 a pint. Not too bad I don't reckon.

Plenty of places to get a £2-2.80 pint of piss lager too. Even Central London, you can find cheap places with £3.50 pints too if you know where to look. UK ain't bad at all for beer prices really.

The prices some of you have quoted from around the globe are truly frightening, and there's me bitching about the prices in the U.K.

Shan't be such a grumpy old sod on the Friday pilgrimage to the real ale pub, ( three different brews every week) or the daily two pints of Guinness in Hatfield Town Centre.

One of the good things I've noted since returning to the U.K. is the discount stores like Aldi that do their own spirits at much reduced prices. Tried the dark rum, vodka & gin so far, and it's as passable as Morgans, Smirnoff or Gordon's. Of course if you can afford nearly £25-£39 per bottle you can lash out on; Pussers, Grey Goose or Tanquery.

Tennants super is Horrible, nasty in fact like the worst - hold your nose medicine - but was always £1 a can for decades , as a fudge was always 15 p
    like an institution.
The country have now gone to the dogs.
Also a very handy drink, being so strong, it allows getting a bit drunk without wettin.. I mean having to keep getting out of bed for the lavatory all night .
