I go to places that Train spotters dream of going.
Hoo Junction Gravesend.
I enter this restricted gate and chat and work with real Train Drivers.
The train spotters sit outside, watching Me at work.

My boys would of loved to watch that pass.

Why was that oldie passing through ?

Well Dave , what is better than a train flying past, sure your sons will enjoy that outing seeing a train wiz past in all it's glory, a sight to behold.
Rather treat them to the experience of actually being a passenger being pulled by the Iron Horse.
There are numerous steam train adventures in Kent open to the public.
Choose one and if you fancy We can meet up an steam around Kent.

I used to get down to the Bluebell railway sometimes. Travelled Settle-Carlisle a few times and also got some good pics of the Colne Valley somewhere.

Diesel and electric trains don't have the charm.

Nice one wasabi, I did some work at a sewage pumping station at Hoo, it was on the Medway estuary and you could see a wacking great power station over the water.

Of course Hoo wasn't a patch on its nearby more illustrious neighbour, whitewall creek, and it's sewage works, to where the Hoo place pumped it all.

As for Gravesend I seem to recall it was a magnet for pikeys and the products of the incestuas relationships off the Isle of Sheppey. Indeed a couple of operators on the Gravesend sewage works were shot at by the pikeys because they wouldn't open the gates and let them in.

I spent much time working around Sheffield Park there , and used to have my dinner in the Bluebell railway coffee shop.

There's a pub within view of the Ribble Viaduct that serves a tremendous Yorkshire pud and Guinness.

Certainly am chuffed there Thorm, just as I remember her down on the East/West Sussex boundary. Not been as chuffed since me days in south West Yorkshire, chuffin Eck !

Bank Holiday Monday, Dave, fancy going on that train.
The kids would love it.

We are at my Sisters for a BBQ unless it pisses down!

We went on the Romney Hythe railway a couple of years back and got fleeced at the cafe in Dungeness.

My boy had a great day but the old women chewed my ear off for most of it,she hated it.
