    The great deception ?

    My moan of the month,

Like many of us who travel, buy tickets online use foreign ATMs have you noticed there are two speeds.

Customer service speed aka PISS POOR
When you transfer your own funds to yourself ofetn 2-5 WORKING days even between advacned English speaking realms Sydney to ING in Hawaai r Ireland to England etc

Fron 3rd world or to smaller savings loans etc many days/moons

    BANKSTER SPEED
    Almost speed of friggin light

Since my bank now offers a text alert I found the real speed of deals is faster than I can type.

We all know a visa or mastercard/amex/jbc card debit is quick
You use that ATM ,swipe your card at the duty free etc and Bingo its gone
The delays online is not verifying your card its the system at Amazon .Air Asia or Ebay and no doubt Langley keep us all tracked.

So cash can whizz out electronically in under a second but when you need a re-credit days

Of course this how these fatcats graze off all of us and why crypro currency is a threat, they've broken confidence in BITCOIN and any serious rival will be bought out or crushed but digital looks like the future .It'll be at risk from a pulse cased by war or solar flare which could stop transactions.
For these emergencies a few groats and some surplus labour aka kids maybe your finest investment (terms and end of term bonuses may apply)

yes - and all the banks practice the same scams

we will effect your transfer at the end of the working day and then charge you 100 dollars for our great service - please understand it will take 3 working days to leave our bank

Hows this for a scam. transferred 500k to LOS and delay as wrong account number, not my fault. When put in my ac they gave me the lower rate on the day they had received it.
Transferred a much larger amount, another delay but this time they gave me the lower rate the day they put it in the account, the opposite of the first time. Loss of 40k, no amount of asking for an explanation got anywhere, they were not even interested in trying to find where the money was and gave the phone to the mrs to sort out with HQ.

Credit cards work on a proprietary networks (visa/mc).
As do ATMs (several linked networks)
Those networks have been driven by their own needs to instant processing.
Bank transfers work on the SWIFT/IBAN systems which are batch processed, and so take a day or so. WESTPAC to Kassikorn is next day.

They do indeed, but David's gripe is that the 'system' always favours the bank, which it does.

He who holds the coinage too the last millisecond is the winner and that is without taking fees into consideration.

Banks are a business, not a service. Why would you expect them to operate against their interests?
Shops don't sell at cost or below, well, except for indian rug merchants who are always selling below cost in their liquidation sales......terrible model that one...

I was offered a box at The Brittania Stadium behind you but lacking a gas mask I declined.

For my penance I'm planning to confess my perversions at the special clinic to Dr STS live in London,if you still have the gential warts collection hand me a sealed enevelope at Swampy and I'll slip em in my diplomatic sporran.

    Write to CEO

they sent me $100 ex gratia payment for declining my card on holiday ,despite the fact I had notified on internal eMAil in advance.

It was unconditional but as it covered my Hotel Bill I'll let em off.
Compared to St George The Newcatel Permanent and ANZ I've found their service suprior to awful fees and service from Irish French and UK banks

I guess my hundred bucks was HennyPenny feed, as todyas smh story shows

An Australian Bureau of Statistics staffer and a NAB employee have been arrested on insider trading and corruption charges over allegations they made $7 million by trading on market sensitive information on the Australian dollar.

The Australian Federal Police said a 24-year-old ABS man allegedly gave his 26-year-old friend at NAB market sensitive information before it was released publicly by the ABS.

They allege his friend then took the information to trade on the foreign exchange derivatives market.
