^Nooooo. That looks like what I have to eat when working out in the boonies, living in a tent, for weeks. Won't see that meal in my house, ever!

I spent the day craving mama noodles for some reason, I'd already plated up the sardines & rice then hastily did the noodles

Our poor old cat died from eating a can of sardines.......at the very same time I backed over it with the truck.

I'm doing haddock in my home made garlic butter tonight, that really pisses off the sardines

Since we are talking fishy dishes....

WE buy something the wife calls "THUMUCK"?.in the market....better than Barra marginally less expensive.

Tesco sometimes has Sea Perch or Bass fillets around 110bt a kilo...very nice but needs dressing up as flavour bit too light for me. Wife fries with a spiced up tempura coating..nice.

Some smoked fish in the market comes pretty close to kipper with butter etc.

When Jesus gave out the bread and fish do you reckon they got the toaster on and served it up?

My garlic butter was a mistake, the shreds of garlic burnt in the pan but it was just about edible as I'd coated the fish with flour beforehand

Those boil in the bag kippers are good on rice with shit hot chilli sauce and a squirt of lemon juice, try and use basmati rice, the expensive brand, more fragrant and doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan in the rice cooker

They do canned sardines in peri peri sauce in Sainsburys, absolutely foul. They also do a curry, mustard, chilli sauces which are ok

Those Canadian imported cans are one of the best, their chiili & olive oil has real chillis in there and a bay leaf, lovely texture and flavour

You ever mashed up the sardines and put them on toast under the grill? Fab-u-lous

When you put them under the grill, put some grated cheese on top.

Good tip, but let the sardines heat through a bit first then add the cheese on top

Possibly some pickle on the cheese too or a few shreds of saurkraut

I don't put butter on the toast, I spread some of the olive oil from the can on it instead.

The Ayam brand available in Bangkok come with plain old olive oil, chilli and green pepper flavours.

59 THB a tin in Villa.
