180baht to make an ATM withdraw

SCB Just rung me and said that they didn't find my card in the ATM machine.........I waited there for 30mins after the thing rebooted and could see there was no card in the slot. Just f'ing typical isn't it. Cards go missing, farangs go missing, lawyers about to prosecute the police go missing and now even planes go missing. Happy days in SE Asia

Fair enough but AU $ 6.00 every withdrawal is over the fuckin top ! 60 bucks from every 10 withdrawals x10 = 600 bucks every 100 withdrawals multiplied by however many ATM's is a lot of money in my opinion and probably more than enough to cover the running costs as other posters have said Theiving KUNTS !

Just withdraw the maximum each time, to lessen the cost .
Or if you dont want to pay for using ATMs, then dont use them

That is exactly what I do. Quite easy really, but I suppose it's much better to just whinge about it. Anyway, I appreciate highly profitable banks. I own stock in one and it pays very good dividends every quarter, and the stock value keeps going up.....banks rock....:)

I cannot believe that some people are flummoxed by this . If you dont want to pay the 180 Baht fee, then go to a bank with your passport and withdraw the money for free , this also safeguards your card from getting eaten by the ATM machine .
Not all banks can do this though, but once you have found one that will, just keep using that same bank to make withdrawals for free

But, but the expense and inconvenience of going to a bank...
