Thai Airways International PCL on Wednesday clarified the details of an incident caught on video involving a mid-air fight among three Chinese tourists on a THAI flight from Bangkok to Beijing.
The incident occurred on Feb 12 after a Chinese man refused a flight attendant’s request to return his seat to the upright position during a meal, said Chatree Pongsak, director of THAI’s flight operations safety department.
The passenger insisted he want to keep on sleeping, prompting two other Chinese, a man and a woman, who were sitting at the back, to shake his seat in a bid to force him to adjust it. A heated argument followed and turned into a fist fight, during which objects were thrown.
The incident was video taped by a passenger who later uploaded the 1.31-minute clip on YouTube on Feb 15. The uploader, using the name "Syver Lauritzsen", posted that “the argument became a little too heated for the guy on the left, and he had to be extracted from the plane by paramedics. He seemed to be fine.”
He also put false subtitles in the video to make a joke out of the rare fight on board.

The argument was about reclining seats. the small guy obviously got his balls nipped by the big guy in front of his wife who he probably beats so he started chucking things like a child.

    Really Shrewed...really ?

If I were there, it would have been hard for me not to throw something at them, too. The whole plane just should have joined in.

What do you think all the shit going on now is about ? do you really for one minute think it is to do with two colors or rival elitists. Look at the bigger picture, certain super powers are positioning themselves in the world for something one day, same with the middle east, same with Venezuela and same with Ukraine. I think we are heading for something in the next decade.

I live and work in China, and my job requires me to fly domestically once or twice a month.

The Chinese are pretty gung-ho on those flights, but I've noticed when flying out of China, to say, Bkk or HK, they behave a lot better. And also when flying in other countries.

There's still the occoasional "tuhao" (newly moneyed peasant) who can't grasp the rules of flying - ie. sit in your designated seat, don't spit on the floor, recline your seat at the appropriate times, remain seated till plane comes to a stop etc.

Last year the Chinese government issued a handbook on international travel etiquette - makes for good reading.

Chinese Tourism Etiquette Guide Reveals Bizarre Travel Tips

    China

The strangest and rudest passenger I've had to deal with was a Filipino woman who wouldn't get out of my seat, even after showing her my boarding pass with seat number, asking her to get out, then having the air hostess explain to her in Tagalog that she HAD to move. It was an aisle seat - I like aisle seat. Fuck giving it up to this rude bitch.

Then she moves to the middle seat and totally owns the arm rest, and puts her legs across my feet in an attempt to stretch out and sleep. Cheeky bitch.

Edit: I did tell a bunch of noisy Chinese tourists to shut it, as they were looking for a place to stay in Koh Chang. It was 8am, I was having a leisurely breakfast and in they stampeded, 20 decibels higher than the drunken Russian bear-man at the bar the previous night. After a couple minnutes of this I reminded them that people come to Koh Chang to relax, and for me relaxing means being in a fairly peaceful environment (at least at 8am). This was said in Chinese.

They were shocked - they apologized and instantly their voices dropped to a whisper, and they pissed off a couple minutes later.

Maybe all these years in China, and being able to speak it, will help in shaming those 'Ugly Chinese' tourists who seem to think that wads of ill-gotten gains means they 'own' the place.

chinese new money, giving their recently enriched lower classes the werewithall to behave with the ostentation, vulgarity and lack of manners and sophistication that so typifies the parvenu class

they should be horsewhipped and fined heavily.

Noisier than India? If so (and I've never been to India, but the Indians around here are extremely noisy...) that's bloody noisy!

I have a few relatives living in HK and one in mainland and all I can tell you is they never had a dislike for the Chinese before they went to work there. They do seem to be very uncouth.
