........ and life just carries on, the gates open and the cars continue their journey as if nothing has happened.

Bit of a Darwin moment really.

Train crossing, barrier down because train is coming, all vehicles giving way, never mind - I'll just pootle across without thinking twice (or even looking once)

Hard to feel any sympathy for the twit, really. I know some family are grieving but such blatant disregard for safety it's inevitable. At least he didnt hurt anyone else.

That's the most disturbing part IMO....

I guess this euphemism for stupid people is in rather poor taste:

"The lights are flashing, the gates are down but no train's coming"

Can't even believe he didn't glance. Music through his headphones from his phone mp3 player perhaps? Many stupid folks do that nowadays

Good job the train didn't swerve to avoid him.
    Could have been real carnage.

We had one less retard in Udon the other day in almost a mirror image of that one. He left a nice Jesus Christ pose on the road as his legacy to mankind.

I like how the cars waiting just drove off..

Can you imagine the conversation in the front car?

"Look Somchai, that biker just got flattened by the train"
"The power of Buddha was not strong with that one.. hehehe"
"Noodles or Rice for dinner tonight?"
    "Noodles"

The final chapter closes the book of life for one unfortunate whilst the book of life continues for Somchai and his friend in a chapter on whether it's rice or noodles for dinner tonight....
Life is fickle , don't you think?

Sometimes i think there should be some kind of Star Trek "Prime Directive" implemented on planet earth between nations.

The Thai brain is nowhere near the level able to invent the internal combustion engine.. therefore they shouldn't have vehicles.. too dangerous.

Same with Africans and guns.. and the wheel.. hehee

It's possible that the cars crossing in the same direction didn't even see what happened- the bike got clipped in the rear, and the train would have obscured their vision (and it had pushed the bike a considerable distance by bone time it left the field-of-view)- for all they knew he might have made it across safely.

You can't tell whether the drivers from the other side were sitting at the crossing or happened upon the scene a few seconds after it occurred (though they might have witnessed it and decided to to get involved).
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I thought the barriers and lights were there to warn road users that a train is coming.

Still, Thais watching this will note that he did almost save himself a few seconds.
