The sun was back out and warmed the rock pool for a midwinter spa sesh after my run.

This Pacific Ale grows on you. I was not too impressed with the 1st bottle last week but it is a rock solid thirst quencher after a run.

Sun had set by the time I drained the last bottle.

The winter sunset throws up some interesting colours. This is straight out of the phone. No shopping.

After 2 whole weeks of no rain the forest is finally dry enough to allow a small burn-off of the fallen fuel.

These Steel Blue work boots are solid as rocks. Much better than hiking shoes for working in when there are loose logs moving around.

I get a 150 NOK voucher every day while I stay at a Scandic hotel as some sort of a loyalty bonus. A pint of Ringnes is 128 NOK and I have one every night, so it doesn't take a genius to work out that there is some shortfall in my spending. I've been here for nearly a month and am finally checking out on Monday so tonight I got the girl to see where I'm at. No-one wants to leave with undrunk vouchers.

I'm a people watcher, and over the last month I've observed that if you ask for a beer just as a coach party arrives to check in, there's a very good chance that the overwhelmed receptionist will forget to put the beer on your room. I'd like to say I didn't take advantage of this.... but I did.

To cut a long story short, tonight I had around 140 quids worth of vouchers left with two nights to drink them. Even at 11 quid a pint, that's still some going and I have a lot to do tomorrow to get finished up.

Anyway, I had three of these...

And then I 'bought' a colleague a pint but he was such a slow drinker I had to have my first small beer to fill the time...

I still had a lot of vouchers to drink but also have a very busy day tomorrow. It goes against every fibre of my body to leave vouchers undrunk, but what can ya do... a real quandary.

Despite my diet I decided on my last pizza from Tony... an extra hot Mexicana to cover tonight, tomorrow lunch and tomorrow night.

I finished the bastard in one go. I've read that alcohol can influence you to make poor eating decisions. They're not wrong, I doubt I've lost much weight today.

Oh yeah, I've gotta finish this bloody box of wine before Monday as well. I've really misjudged things this trip.

You've just reminded me of a incident that happened the other day on a bike ride.

This bird of prey dropped down to the right of me and snatched a field mouse out of the long grass.

    Gave me a shock.

    Great pics as always Loops!

You managed to get up close and personal with a Wedgetail Eagle down under?

Little cool fact, Edvard Munch's The Scream (Norway) was apparently inspired by the effects of the Krakatoa eruption (Indonesia).

Forgot to put the Pacific Ale in the fridge so I was forced into a Little-Creatures/Jocko-Juice combo at the spa.

Showered and dried and then my rocky seat was too low and I copped a splash.

^ Lots of foot pictures sneaking into this thread Looper, which is always good to see.

    I also had a 'Jocko-juice' drink tonight...

A gin and tonic, lemon from the garden and served up in the latest style Leo glass from Bangkok.
