Thread: What are you drinking today?

I'm always amazed at the amount of alcohol people drink on TD . . . I might have a glass of wine/sake at dinner or a glass/bottle of Pernod/Corona on a sunny afternoon . . . thats it. Certainly not a daily thing.

Me too. So many people here where drinking alcohol appears to be a vital part of their lives. Some might call it drinking problems.

Maybe, but many of the posters here who seem to have a very strong need for alcohol do not live in "nakhon fukwit" (assuming that by nakhon fuckwit you mean the Thai countryside).

For me I drink because quite frankly I enjoy the taste. Do I need it every day, Naaah. But I do enjoy a fine spirit at the end of a day. Quite relaxing and I have reached an age where I earned it. I do know a few however that drink 10 to 15 beers a day or drink out of boredom nearly all day and it has had an adverse impact on their lives, both mentally and physically

IMO many people find ways to relax, whatever works. I also know a few that thought that running marathons, competing in triathlons, rock climbing etc was their ticket to relaxing. I see them now and one has had a hip replacement, another both knees are shot and the rock climber fell some years back and broke his back and is in constant pain.

I think I'd much prefer a drink.....
