    Update for Nev.

KATY is a minx, nice apple flavour unlike the Vintage Westons and not too dry like the Aspalls, the only trouble is its 7.4% and i have a distinct buzz off the first one and a half. Getting a hankering for something with Garlic Mayo for some reason, got the mayo and the garlic just got to mate them and find another partner for a threesome.

Water has no fooking place near alcohol, period. I hate sitting in a bar next to some sweaty overweight or shrunken old looking less than a picture of health but lecturing on the benefits of ice cubes in his chang or carlsberg.

Cheers. I've tried Weston's before and wasn't impressed. I don't like Thatcher's Gold at all but I'd like to try their Katy cider

Cider is about apples for me and it seems medium dry is the one regardless of %. I am now firmly turning my attention to a beer horizon. The cider is no more and given my weak willed ability to defend myself again KATYs charms i am glad its back to 5ish % for me and i am leaving apples behind until ......Friday if i get a shop in.

There are many places you can order cider online and get it delivered by Kerry Express or Yellow Buses, one here:
DISTRIBUTION - Cider in Thailand Importers & Distributors of Premium Ciders, Apple Honey Co., Ltd

I'm self isolating and off the beer indefinitely. It's hell.

Been 3 days now Dil. I am thinking about pouring something soon, just not sure what sounds good on a 40C day...Mai Tai? Long Island Iced Tea?

I disagree NPT. Some good cask strength Bourbon really comes alive with a small ice cube

Beer and Ice....Just wrong. Ice belongs in coke or water

Well, since you're not a beer drinker...

    Actually, I used to agree.

However 'old style' Chang was OK (I won't say 'good') with ice, and sometimes practicality also has to win out.

True on beer. Beer warm is horrific so I can see why Ice keeps it cool of course other option is just drink it fast.

Those Thai beers go well with ice in the heat, Carlsberg or Carling not so.
If you want something refreshing, try cider it's probably the best drink in the heat and most go well with ice. Long Islqnd iced tea used to be an old favourite. No matter how twatted I got the night before, two of those and I was back in the game

Or go uperclass Brit and buy yourself some Pimms

You haven't lived....Most high alcohol Belgian malty beers are better warm as is a nice sipped pint of British stout.

Darjeeling and its staying that way. I made a disappointing foray into my stock yesterday.

Doubly disappointing as a call went out for volunteers to pop up the allotments and help lift potatoes, leeks and onions for a number of olds in isolation that aren't allowed to their veg patches. Its going to me an emotional morning.

When I was in Scotland a few times a group of the Techs took me to a Pub near Livingston. Now mind you, I was all geared up for some Scotch and they started me off with some room temperature beer that damn near made me hurl...... Savages...... I guess they got used to never having a fridge so thyey drink it warm. Nasty that was.

I graciously accepted the offer and let it sit on the bar top (Never to be touched again) while I ordered me up a double Mortlach 16yr.

Sometimes a cold cider just hits the spot! But what I'd give for n ice cold bottle of Green Goblin.

Lom... I just noticed your posts, many thanks and I will investigate!

A true afficianado of fine cask ales will always drink them at room temperature.

An acquired taste for your typical uncultured Yank and his budweiser, coors light and Cap'n Crunch accustomed taste buds

I don't often eat Capn Crunch but when I do I eat it in a bowl of warm fine cask ale.
