Thread: What are you drinking today?

My two cans of beer after exercise. 15 months of only 2 other than when out travelling.

Just clanked me 2 Bourbons on the rocks. Jefferson Reserve. Driver showing up in 10. ROAD TRIP !!!!. Brought bottle with me.

Got a few weeks office work in Norway, so it's hotel living with evenings to fill.

I've always been a 'couple of beers straight after work' kind of guy, but at 11 quid a pint and no-one to talk to I've had to adapt.

Today I picked up a 3 litre box of wine, so it's a couple of glasses of wine and a movie on my phone tonight. Don't get the chance of doing this at home and it's an absolute luxury... but miss the dogs of course.

Incidentally, Norway is probably one of the most expensive countries on the planet, but 3 litres of wine cost 369 NOK = £33 = 1260 THB. Not a big difference to what you'd pay in Thailand - makes you realise how expensive wine in Thailand is. This one is pretty bad mind.

Have you considered getting a beer making kit together. It may taste crap but there you have 40 pints of winning, beating the man..

Alternatively I can provide a Shackleton cocktail recipe which he gave to his men at Christmas. Not for everyday drinking. Unless necessary.

But the Shackleton recipe sounds interesting.

No not the books as I didn't like his writing style. The film however "Master and Commander" was a masterpiece and I am surprised there wasn't a sequel.

I bought rubbing alcohol from the paki shop and upped everything. It worked. But as I wrote. Not for everyday use. Unless necessary.

A teaspoonful in a pint of hot flavoured water equals 5% ABV. As I wrote I upped everything so it was more like a pint of strong wine. I did it but I wouldn't do it again.

Managed to offload my last wine on an unsuspecting colleague so picked up another box today.

I've tried the cheapest in the shop, so upgraded to the second cheapest this time. The name sold it to me, and should appeal to at least one other member on here...

Didn't realise it was another South African. Goats may well roam, but they also piss. This wine should be called 'Goats Do Piss', because that's exactly what it tastes like.

Goats do Roam is a pisstake of Côtes du Rhône.


God knows, I've drunk enough of it.

Maybe injecting is the way to go, won't have to taste it that way!

Working every day at the moment with early starts, so trying to limit meself to a litre a night...

Yeah, that won't work either.

Yeah I know... long evenings to fill in the hotel and don't want to go out to the bars. Will try and limit it to a box over the weekends.

But what to do? I've run out of dogs to write about so will have to find something else!
