When you say "peated" I think to the couple (first one, then another) bottles of Laphroaig I bought as gifts in January. Peaty. Very very smoky peaty. Delicious.
Do you suggest that Laphroaig is junk?
    Just asking...I claim no expertise.
No just that specific one Lulu posted.

Peaty Scotch is an acquired taste for sure. I have tried a few. Laphroaig is an Islay region distilled Scotch and that area is noted for its Peat process. I much prefer the Speyside or Highlands distilled Scotch's. I like an aromatic Scotch with a smooth taste. Goes great with a Havana...

Scotch like Bourbon are personal preference. Bourbon I prefer Rye but wheat is pretty damn good but it all boils down to distillers and process.

Tequila quality is where the Agave plant is grown (Highlands or lowlands) and how they process it.

    Cheers
    Cool, thanks for your opinion.
I loved the Laphroaig. Smooth and tasty.
Havanas? Now that's a whole other topic, but I can well imagine a Laphroaig with a good cigar. I just had a ciggie and a joint . Would have been better with a good cigar and a joint.

Bourbon...love the stuff. Makers Mark have a good old one...their young ones I can take or leave. Can't fault Jack, though. Jim is over-rated (in NZ).

And yes, I like a good tequila. Can't claim to be an aficionado, though.

^See god, eh.. i'll have to give it a try.

Was lucky enough to spend some time in Korea town last night and introduced to flavored Soju. . Blueberry Soju. This is phenomenal.
Went to buy a few bottles after.

Decided on a night of tasting.

Was only 35 euro (1,400thb) for 14 bottles, including 2 packs of 2 bottles and proper beer glasss.

There's a free ticket from Milan to Bangkok going in 3 weeks and all you gotta do is chaperone one little girl.

    PM me.

It would have benefitted by a Blueberry Suji, granted.

Right now spending way to much for Scotch at a bar along the river in BKK. Fk. I could have bought a bottle

Pisses me off. I have like 80+ bottles at my house in my liquor cabinet. Yet I drink in a bar in BKK. What suck ass is they do an accurate 1 shot pour. I see it in the glass and say to myself....WTF is that? Make it a triple, I pour heavy at home

I actually brought with me from the states and hadn't tried yet. You posted about it which prompted me to try. I am not sure where to get in Thailand. Maybe Villa Market?

Lunchtime will be a couple of small Singha's, halfway through the second of which I'll order my lunch (a traditional Sunday roast) Main course and dessert (chocolate brownie) will be joined by a glass of red wine with each, and on completion, a double Hennessy and a double espresso to round things off before heading home (wife driving of course).

A creature of habit on Sundays.
