The Canuks call that a "Caesar".
The clam juice with the tomato gives it a distinctive taste.
I got introduced to them at 6am one Superbowl game in Phuket.
By the time the game was over I had to leave the bike and get a tuk tuk home.

don't forget the worcestershire sauce, and even though wikipedia doesn't say so, a dash of tabasco is a necessity. pickled asparagus instead of celery classes it up at bit also.

trouble is finding clamato juice anywhere else but canada...

i've got 3 passionfruit planrts, first one finally flowered.

so i bought some passionfruit juice to prepare myself for the bounty to come.

    very tart, but tasty.

on another note, for some reason i bought a bottle of gin, cheap as chips some of it is in thailand.

now let me tell you.....gin and passionfruit juice is a drink to die for. not sure if it already has a name, but it should....

I initially thought that Clamato was some very weird shit, think about it?clam juice and tomato juice in a can, that was until I tried it with a vodka, pure genius whoever thought of that. If bloody Mary's are steak eggs in a glass then Clamato with vokda is Viagra in a can , love it, can't find it here though, can get cans of V8 in tesco occasionally though and viagra from D pharmacy, happy days.

The Drunken Monkey: Why We Drink and Abuse Alcohol by Robert Dudley

Alcoholism, as opposed to the safe consumption of alcohol, remains a major public health issue. In this accessible book, Robert Dudley presents an intriguing evolutionary interpretation to explain the persistence of alcohol-related problems. Providing a deep-time, interdisciplinary perspective on today’s patterns of alcohol consumption and abuse, Dudley traces the link between the fruit-eating behavior of arboreal primates and the evolution of the sensory skills required to identify ripe and fermented fruits that contain sugar and low levels of alcohol. In addition to introducing this new theory of the relationship of humans to alcohol, the book discusses the supporting research, implications of the hypothesis, and the medical and social impacts of alcoholism.
The Drunken Monkey is designed for interested readers, scholars, and students in comparative and evolutionary biology, biological anthropology, medicine, and public health.

I've been told that Clamato juice is great for bloody marys. I have found a shop here in the most expensive city in the world to buy it. For four cans of the stuff, its the same price as the bottle of voddie.

I remember, in Thailand, i used to buy the spicey Campbells tomatoe juice. Cheap.

Here, same price as the clamato.

Bugger that. Maybe for a special occasion.

I have all the spices etc. anyway. And on a hot and humid evening - what better.

But another drink to think about is Pims.

I just love it, lots of ice, lemonade and a few sprigs of mint. What better.
