Cheers Snubs. It will last me awhile but I love me some good Rye so a bottle doesn't last long. Thankfully when guests swing by they bring their Thai stuff so I don't have to share.

It’s a bit fruity for me, but one of the most popular single malt whiskies in the world.

Thought I would expand the historical scope of the arsenal with a Norman Siege Catapult.

An early precursor of the M777 Howitzer

Just need to attach my buckets of rocks with chain and then wind on my windup-rope to be ready for my first assault

It is 1/12 scale and Roy Urquhart is 1/6 scale so imagine doubling the catapult or halving Roy to give yourself a sense of proportion

A glass of Friar Angelico's hazelnut liqueur Frangelico in a saintly looking monks-habit bottle to celebrate the arrival of my holy Roman Byzantine Catapult to face off against my Norman catapult

    What are you drinking today?-20241211_224545-jpg

The Byzantine Empire was also known as the Eastern Roman Empire or Byzantium and this fearsome weapon was used to hold the Muslim hordes at bay during the holy crusades by firing giant flaming arrows at them, rather than rocks as in the case of the Norman Catapult.

It was basically a gigantic crossbow.

I don't usually drink with women, unless perhaps a glass or two of wine while watching 50 shades of grey, but Uni GF was coming over, asked if we could drink some Soju together, and was bringing her uniform so Edoo The Pervoo could do that uni student in uniform gets handcuffed to the bed then blindfolded and unmercifully devoured for forgetting her A, B, Sneeze, so meeting half way was only fair.

Have never drank Soju before. And after drinking this I'm pretty sure I still haven't.

Whatever it is, it is very easy to drink and seems exceptional value - 360ml @ 13% for something like 79 or 89 baht each. Which is pretty much the size and alc volume of half a bottle of MalmoMike's shiraz.

    The Seven had 4 flavours.

Peach, mixed berry, strawberry and apple.

I had the 13% peach, she had the 12% mixed berry, though added in a dash of sala syrup because despite having the sugar content of a 1950's candy store, it obviously wasn't sweet enough. Teenagers *shakes head*

Did up me famous wings, she did up a very tasty dipping sauce, not one for newbies.

I think I had 2 in the time she had the rest sucked to the bone.

Then had a great ol' time singing and dancing and doing me award winning John Travolta.

Before getting down to more serious business.

    Eddie rating:

Taste: 8/10 if aged under 25.
Value: 10/10 I doubt Mendy's yaa dong costs much more.
Would drink it again: Lord no.

The family history behind that crystal glass is the same as behind the crystal jug in the picture above it. They were both part of the wedding gift glassware to my grandparents, making them over 85 years old I think.

I love drinking from glasses with family history.

    Cranberry honey and lemon tea.

The cranberry honey isn't quite as nice as I thought it would be.

Holy Mary, What are you drinking today?-intro-1543431928-jpg of God!!!

Not one, not two, but 67.5 grams of sugar! I think I have instant-onset diabetes.

Obviously there was only one thing I could do, go and buy up a load of sugary, Xmasy treats to confuse the body. An overloaded sugar processing system can't process sugar if its overloaded, right?

As luck would have it today is Saturday, the Sabbath, the holy day God himself designated as international cheat day. It would be wrong to not observe the customs of the Lord.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

It is a shocker isn't it. Although it is a big 500ml can and Coca Cola comes in at 52g per 500ml so not far behind.

I only drink those energy drinks once or twice a month. They do give you a buzz. It is probably more the blood sugar than the magical ingredients they tout such as guanine, taurine, ginseng etc.

Damn. I've glanced at such things since watching 'That Sugar Film', but don't drink fizzy drinks so never looked at a bottle/can of Coke.

    That's 13 teaspoons.

I feel sweeter just reading it.
