Erm, unless it’s one of your jokes Oud means old and Jonge means young. You can have a young or old gouder cheese, or a young or aged whiskey or in this case a Young grain gin (graan = grain and Jenever = gin)

Apart from Fridays, Saturdays and occasional Sundays I'm pretty much off the booze these days, but then the wife went and opened a bag of white Peter Vella to make her chilli mussels. Once opened, I always think it best to drink a fine wine before it spoils.

What better way to spend a balmy summer's afternoon than a spot of cat fish fishing with a crisp, chilled white wine? And when I say 'balmy', I mean mind-numbingly swelteringly hot with 80% humidity, but this is Isaan, after all.

But at least I had company. I hate to drink alone.

That life has come to this.

^ you could be abusing yourself and a rental daily in Bkk or Pattters until you fail your medical for your next Norway trip. And... you could end up with Sausages commenting on your demise from a 7th storey apartment as you innocently had a snifter on the balcony

Looks like a nice evening Looper. How many different tree species are there in any given 1km sq where you live? Stunning colours

Great picture Mendy, I do not think there is much better than running down another day in LOS with some cold ones and a few dogs! we are trying to stick to just 7units a week now that we are creeping up on 40!
One should listen twice as much as one speaks

    Mostly eucalypts and camphor laurels.

That is a mango to the right of the pillar.

The bald one to the right of the mango is a Jacaranda. It loses its foliage at the end of winter and erupts in purple blossoms in spring.

The bush to the right of the Jacaranda is a coffee tree.

6 pints of Guiness in 30oC heat in the beer garden today, I fear I may have heatstroke!

    Best keep rehydrating.

British beer garden culture is amusing to watch while catching wasps in a glass and getting them pissed.

I caught 5 wasps in one pint glass! Beat that Dill!!

Where's the patronizing condescending self-righteousness in that.

    Edit:
