^ couldn't you stretch to a 30 or 40 quid bottle .... for a change, its not much?
Happy New Year to you too, Shutree. :)
Mix up a Crow cocktail for yourself:
A shot or two of whisky, some fresh lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and a bit of pomegranate juice (or that red sweet stuff that Thai kids like to drink). Shake/mix/stir as preferred and drink.
In your best Christofle crystal. :)

^^^^ I would for a special occasion! I'm certainly no conno sir and NYE has never really been a thing for me, especially in Thailand.
You might know that Morland Breweries created this about 1979. I got into it when I was in the UK in the 1990s and I liked it very much. Then Morland, which was about 300 years old, sold out to Greene King. Now I like a drop of Greene King but they closed the old Morland brewery and moved the brewing of Old Speckled Hen to one of their own 'factories'. A shame. It truly is not the same beer that it was. A decent drop still but the original is lost.
^ correct, was a great beer and Greene King makes awful beer imo
That was the fist time I've drunk it. The first time I'd heard of it was in the 1990s. A guy I worked with at the time raved about it but I wasn't a beer drinker so I didn't try it. Interesting that you mention Greene King because there was a can of Greene King IPA next to the Speckled Hen when I bought it. I was tempted to try the Greene King too but decided not to.
No gut rot brandy for moi tonight!
Only the finest Johnnie Walker with a dash of Buxton Spa water direct from the spring.
Happy New year to you bunch of wankers:beer::rock_dj::party43::fest30::arms:

Attachment 96549Attachment 96549 oh fuck what have I done. The cute barmaid described it as a sort of soju popular with Koreans but it's guaranteed to kick my ass it's fortunately only a small bottle and I won't be getting another one
Soju can be deadly. That's a solid fact.

Chicken Chasseur?:)
Btw nice bottle if gut rot there, I'll be around in ten:bananaman:
Fact? How would you figure that.
I drank quite a bit when living in SKorea..they make jugs with juice and soju they sell at the bars.
Next day you see Korean men passed out on the street from drinking too much soju, but it isn't any 'deadly' than other hard stuff.
A cup of herbal green tea...
