Picked me a couple 4 packs. Outstanding golden ale from a local craft beer brewery. 7.6 ABV.
A gothic speckled cock toast to the RAF Grumman Martlet.
It will be recognised by our merkin brethren as the Grumman F4F Wildcat (as mentioned in the very good French movie Elle which I re-watched recently)
It was the carrier fighter in the early stages of WWII. Later to be replaced by the larger and more powerful F6F hellcat (which was the 2nd model I got in my collection in 1/48).
"Old Speckled Hen", made by Morlands Brewery in Abingdon, Oxfordshire (or at least used to be). Did a British Institute of Innkeepers course with them in 1994, also did my parachute course at RAF Abingdon in 1970.
^ You like your Belgian style beers Stumpy, that's for sure.
It only seems like yesterday Headworx talked me into buying the most expensive glasses I've ever drunk out of... $80 US for the pair (with shipping) but thankfully the postman didn't try and nail me for extra duty when he delivered them this morning.
They arrived unbroken but I'm sure the wife will remedy that when she does the washing up in the morning.
And what better way to Christen such an expensive glass... a Leo on ice.
A geo Leo!
Tonight I allowed myself the first modest Ya Dong chaser of this trip home. To be honest the geological time scale would be set off much better against a dark red background but half a pint of that evil stuff would probably kill me.

^ Bought a load of Duval last year, they're too bastard strong.
They are nice to start with though, an aperitif to a shit load of Carling.
Lidl have a special on Belgian beer from tomorrow.
For now, a match made in sun heaven...
Corona and Courvoisseur
Are you mixing Tanqueray and Hendricks?
^I finished the Tanqueray and then started work on the Hendricks but not in the same glass, heavens forbid
I had a couple of Tanqueray’s this evening. But no pics.
An incredible variety of craft, wheat and IPAs beers over there.
