Never on straws RD. The Sparklers sound like a nice touch with maybe a few bottle rockets. :smileylaughing:

^ I've got those exact same glasses Stumps but I just never seem to have an occasion to use them.
As luck would have it tonight isn't a school night... the daughter is off until Thursday for Chinese New Year!
And no sparklers for me either... I just can't risk a naked flame near this stuff.

Cheers Mendy. One thing that is always scary is your Ya Dong color pics are different every time. I am assuming it's because your factorum uses different brands of paint thinner. :smileylaughing:
Yay!!!!! Beach vacation megathread coming up!!!
God I've missed those atolls, warm turqoise seas, spectacular sunsets, seafood, magnums and super yachts.:)

Oh.
^^ Yeah, it ranges from bright red to a browny colour with a hint of auburn. I think it must be the type and amount of cough mixture used that determines the colour. But don't forget there's also a host of healthy herbs mixed in.
The exact recipe for each Ya Dong brew is a closely guarded secret and the gardener has tried on many occasions to find it out so he can go into production, but without success. A few years ago he made up a couple of batches but it was nowhere near as good as the stuff he gets now.
You can see why these guys keep their recipes secret though... a big Hong Thong bottle size costs 100 Baht and a half Hong Thong bottle size costs 50 Baht... there's money to be made.
Edit: So what are you saying Reg? That I'm not utilising the school holiday to it's fullest? I'm teaching the daughter about 'real' Thailand... it ain't all beaches and sunsets.
Started with poolside beers.

Some Chilled Stoli on the rocks.....
^^^ How'd you injure your thumb Looper, or is it personal?
^^ Nice Stumps... but my comment about tequila remains... or vodka... the only spirit I'd drink to savour the hit is a Scotch whisky. But each to their own of course.
And by the way... you have the exact same bottle of olive oil that I have (from Makro)... this gives me some hope!
^ Both are common, if you can get a smaller production company they tend to have much more flavour from the first pressings but you pay for it
Absolut and tonic was my drink of choice, Whisky would give me a worst hungover, Now I mostly drink JD with Schweppes lime soda, or Captain Morgan dark rum with the same..
By now no need to worry about those brain cells, I am afraid that boat has sailed. :)

Stoli is fine on the rocks, but keep it in the freezer.
^^ Same me BB, I like a vodka tonic but it's just not a spirit I'd drink neat... unless in an emergency of course.
I generally avoid this thread now due to cutting right back but as it's Chinese New Year...
I spent over an hour trying to get a picture of a bird tonight and when I got back to the house I was about to take a sip of my whisky when I noticed that... a bladdy gecko had shit in it. I'm used to the occasional bug but this was completely different.
I tried to get it out with my fingers but it started to break up so I resorted to a spoon.

You are correct, and I have some nice EVOO that is more expensive. I tend to use it for dipping breads and in salads...
Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil | Artisan Oils – La Tourangelle
Along with a fancy balsamic. I like this bad boy...
Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP
Absolutely on frozen Stoli. It is very nice Vodka. Frozen can be enjoyed neat. Ice adds an extra chill. I do lime twist from time to time.
Like Snubs, I prefer Bourbon or Rye Whiskey. That has to be enjoyed at room temp of course.
Nice Job Mendy with the Jingjok turd. I hate those damn things. I too also appreciate a good single malt Scotch. Have you tried a good US Bourbon or Rye Whiskey? There are a select few available here. Buffalo Trace or Woodford reserve Double Oak. Of course you will have to unfold your wallet to take money out, they aren't 100 baht. :)
He's worried about the moths...
The injury is a trifle, just from my bad habit of biting snags on my cuticles
But the weird thing is that a qualified practising nurse with 2 children in the house would not have any form of antiseptic on hand. Not savlon nor Betadine nor anything else.
I made do with the plaster she gave me until I had the bright idea of squeezing some hand sanitiser gel onto the wound. Hurts like a buggery with the stinging but the ethanol does sanitise the wound.
I got the idea while looking into my Kentucky Bourbon and thinking about the cowboy movies where they pour bourbon into gunshot wounds.
