You can Thank Mendy for that BLD. I was enjoying a BeerLao Dark in my hammock and then comes Mendy with his Hobbit feet and broken Big C Adda slippers.

^I would say Chitty's feet are ahead by a length on most of the pasty plates on display on the DOOR this week

Brut is the manliest and driest of champagnes and will put hairs on your chest (and your hobbit feet)

The Gloster Javelin was an ambitious and futuristic RAF Delta wing fighter/interceptor introduced in the post-war early 50s which preceded the more famous and much faster English Electric Lightning.

This is XH903 which you can still see, smell, touch and even lick at the Jet Age museum in Gloucester (on loan from the Royal Air Force Museum)

    Happy Friday,

After a busy day just winding it down sitting at the pool bar enjoying some Don Pilar Anejo Tequila.

Expect the worst, hope for the best. That's my motto.

And always keep a box of Mont Clair for emergencies.

That was a selection I have been slowly enjoying from my US stock. If you are in the states, take a look online. I am pretty sure you can track down a bottle.

And FWIIW, it's absolutely outstanding. I could clear that bottle in a couple of days but I am showing constraint.

    Cheers

I would nevet dream of drinking Teqila alone, or even out and about with company. I won't touch that stuff.

This all stems from nearly being arrested in Singapore one night many years ago and later waking up with an Indonesian hooker... who I had no idea who she was or how she got there... and she wasn't nice.

Each to their own of course, but why Tequila?

Well firstly years back Tequila was a pretty harsh liquor, especially Mezcal ( worm in the bottle). Similar to that paint thinner you drink called Ya Dong. I had many a bender in Rosarito and Ensenada Mexico in my college days there and woke up with a few Mexican gals who I didn't know their names and wondered if I was going to get shot before I got back over the border.

However as time has gone on like many spirits they have become extremely complex and refined. The Anejo pictured if you read the bottle was distilled and aged in American White Oak barrels then a French Limousine barrel. If you drank this you would enjoy it. It has an incredibly nice nose and very fruity Agave taste. This is not a Shot glass, lime, salt chaser to avoid gagging Tequila of days past. Same goes for Bourbon, Whiskey etc they are incredibly good to drink and enjoy. If you have to "chase" a booze with something else to avoid the taste, you are drinking terrible liquor.

I too have been there on the Mezcal, got arrested for jumping on a police car and ripping its wiper blades off, after i'd dropped the bottle and was fishing around trying to pick up the worm - cut my fingers to sheds. The coppers weren't happy having to take me to A&E to get bandaged. I got left off with a caution as they sympathised with me being 15.

    EDIT

I don't drink spirits except Gin at all now, gave up 20 years ago, just don't see the point of all those brown cancer agents
