I decided to open up a local purchase. I am not a JD fan of say old #7 but this single barrel select cask strength is a good pour. Tonight was an oddly beautiful night. Slight breeze, mild temp. I relaxed by the pool and watched the lightning flash across the valley.

^^ What l'd give for a proper drink.

I don't much care for bourbon but a double malt would really hit the spot right now. After the shitest of shit days the Ja Dong just doesn't do the job.

Cheap brandy is not the same as a single or double malt

I understand on Bourbon Mendy, it's an acquired taste for sure. From your posts, you had a helluva day and you needed a drink you could enjoy and laugh about it all. Right after I posted the pic above we got hammered by damn near gale force winds and heavy rain with some lightning and Thunder that rattled windows. After it blew by it just rained all night. I guess my weedwhacking, mowing and dirt moving is on hold yet again. I hate shoveling mud.

An interesting shade of blue. $65 is a good price, have you tried it yet? What does it taste like?

I know. Only has to drink 8 of them versus 16. Saves a helluva a lot trips to the bathroom which leaves more time for polluting TD

    ^ Yes, Friday it is!

    Another week endured.

I'm sitting here in my boxer shorts and the sweat is just pouring off... and it's 6:30pm. I asked my wife why anyone would possibly live in Isaan if they didn't have to... her answer was to go off for a drink with her friends.

I've been here before... over Dan's near 15 years we've sat together through many nights. The other dogs are in the gardener's kitchen enjoying the cooling fan but Dan gets me. She sits outside and keeps me company.

I listened to a radio programme today about mental health issues resulting from the Covid lockdowns. Try living in Isaan I thought to myself... my entire life is in lockdown yet I stay completely fukkin normal.

Hey Mendy, what does your wife drink? Don't tell us some top shelf mixed cocktail.

Think though Buddy, there are people that live in WAY out in nowhere Isaan. I have traveled out in some serious remote locations on my moto. Now that's gotta be hard......

    Screw that shite.

Lots of Int Schools down along the east coast, rent out a nice gaff for a few years by the beach with a view to buying down there for the remainder of yer kid's education + your possible retirement.

Did my yard work this morning and stopped by our lime trees and picked off a few for a Tequila night to go with my tacos.

While I am waiting to prep my Taco stuff, I cracked open a BeerLao White as I caught up on the TD fun. BTW, The beer is surprisingly good. I had never had one before. Would definitely buy it again.
