I continue to believe that life isn't fair.

While JP has done nothing more than 'float' on his pool all day and yet sips Aberfeldy tonight, and KW has spent the afternoon thinking about his next barbecue yet has a choice of three malts, I've been working my bollocks off all day in baking heat and end up supping a Leo with a Ja Dong chaser, while competing for the best spot in front of the fan with a pack of dogs in the gardener's kitchen. It's pissing it down outside so an indoor drink it was tonight.

Nuttin but luv for ya Mendy...

I actually didn't float in the pool today but did sit and work at the pool bar with the mist fan keeping the edge off wondering what I might crack open tonight after my various updates were done. I had no idea where the dogs were.

We had a big piss down around 2 that lasted 30 minutes then the sun back out to make immediate swamp ass weather. I was going to weedwhack and mow but shit canned that idea and just sipped while looking at tomorrow's Baseball and NBA start times.

He still has time then to run to 7/11. Took me some digging around to find out the true holiday and why many call it a Bank Holiday.

    Thanks Armstrong.

Jaysus, ya poor sod, relegated to the kitchen without even a proper table. Well; I started with an icecold Franciskaner, then finished the Singleton and had a talisker chaser (or 2).

^ JPRR2, I’m in agreement on 10 or 12 vs 18 or 21 year old whiskeys. Double the price but this unrefined palate can rarely differentiate between them.

Californian red wine for me this evening. Cabernet Sauvignon. Not a bad drop. Nice and smooth.

There's no fooling you, Mendip. Peter Vella.

I don't actually like the Mont Claire wine but this Peter Vella is OK for me.

I have a bottle of Khao Yai red wine to polish off some day too. Maybe Christmas at the rate I drink wine.

I tried some khai Yai wine once. One bottle ended up down the sink; one was passable table wine. I don’t recall which was which, saving it for Xmas could be a horrible mistake.

Same here, it was in the early 2000's so they may be better nowadays.

Ended up skulling back 8 out of 10 x 490ml cans, so now only have 2 left and I doubt the mom n pop shops sell San Mig wheat bier.

Go on, pass us some of that Ya Dong Mendy bud.

That 5.4% wheat bier doesn't have go down nice and easy.

Or a holiday week for those of us that don’t have to work tomorrow or Friday either...

speaking of civilised countries what still sell beer on Buddhist holidays, I decided since the sun is over the hard arm I may as well pop downstairs and collect a few ales. But the shop has run out of Fransiskaners. Oh well; these will do!

    What are you drinking today?-8ef179aa-8d80-4a28-89d9-4c6b87936080-jpeg

^ Funny as Hell KW, I just cracked a Hoegaarden. Its a GREAT go to beer. I always stock 8 to 12 of them with a host of others.

I have my chicken thighs marinating in a garlic/Pepper/Teriyaki mix for the Q tonight. While I enjoyed that Aberfeldy Scotch I have to say it was very smooth but a little bland at 40% ABV. I will have to dig into my Whiskey/Bourbon collection. I have a KaVaLan Single Malt Whiskey Cask strength i picked up in Taiwan that is 57.2% ABV.

My daughter was working at a hotel and managed to permanently borrow some of those hoegaarden glasses for me - 4 half pint and 4 pint glasses.
Solid glass - stick em in the freezer and they keep the beer cold nicely - I'm scared of dropping the big ones - probably get a fractured foot.
