And this is it... this is what I need to cut out. I don't drink a lot, but love my couple of Leos with a whiskey chaser every night. Doesn't look like much, but every night...

Anyway, hopefully here I bow out of this thread. Tomorrow I head off for four weeks offshore and I hope to break a few habits when I return.

Its a horrible night, the one before you leave, as any other offshore workers will be familiar with. Once you know you're going, you just want to go. Even the dogs were off their food tonight, it's so disruptive.

What you need to cut out is kidding yourself that you don't drink a lot, mate. You drink a lot.

Does it feel a bit like jail (with drink) sitting there alone?

I guess it's a gradual thing. I've always (previously) had a local for a couple of early beers, then home. It's become natural for a couple of early drinks at home in the absence of bars and the likes. Habit I guess.

Not at all like jail, just what life becomes. And with a young daughter entirely dependant on me, options are limited for the near future (enough said).

During my work periods offshore I don't even think about a drink, yet I'm very aware I drink unhealrhy amounts when home. Always up by 6am for school run etc, but I guess I have to accept it's become more than a habit.

Without getting maudlin, my young daughter is what its all about just now. My mind is in the future.

It could go horribly wrong, but I've put on the good quality headphones, set Youtube to 80s classics, and I'm going after that bottle...

Add an Indian takeaway to that little lot and you've (almost) got the perfect night.

a wee midnight snack never hurt anyone.

Have actually gotten quite into this.

Somewhat similar to a European red beer, a lot less fizzy than the Thai beers, it really goes down quite well once you hold your nose and gulp it.

    ^ & ^^

Gotta be better than that horrible Jagermeister stuff...

(although, gotta be honest with you fellas; quite girly those drinks, just sayin'...)

Plus, somebody paid far too much for those rugs; 3 months? Haven't they invented the loom in K?

(They get three done before lunch or half their salary is docked...)

There's a drought in the house, needs must

That jagomeister is like drinking grannies buttercup syrup but not as potent

I do hope that's NOT a euphemism... although, I suppose, in a drought, needs must...

^ sounds good, but have never heard of it.

Usually, we just did some coke or acid to start the night off although that would give a bit of a hangover on a school day...

Googling it..that Chavvy bastard is refering to this...

My mate's mom was a bit of a heifer back in the day and was prescribed slimming capsules by her doctor.

Inside those capsules was pure speed ready to be crushed down and bombed in a piece of tissue for a night of talking shit, gurning and dancing like a cnut
