Any recommendations for Hong Thong ?
Its next door to the Sang Som in Foodmart: Tempting.
But its what I see the pro-drinkers on Pattaya beach use: Untempting.

I only drink SangSom with coke so taste is blanded out. Plans to make Grog( nam soda, lime, sugar) have fallen by the wayside.

Its not great but I prefer it to Sang Som.

I tend to drink it neat with just one of two chunks of ice and pretend it's cheap malt.

Are both those properties the family's?

It looks like a main front gate leads into the side of another private house.

Or it may be the Mont Claire talking.

Had an original plot that was walled, then later bought an adjacent plot that became available. Knocked through one section and its worked well for us.

^^ One pad mate, not that big as its residentual plots. To the right in the pic started as my workshop/storage with a Thai kitchen (and if you think the electrical sockets in our kitchen need a clean you should check these out) but the project grew horns and we put a small appartment above. The gardener lives up there now, an old friend we first met in Perth. Kind of works for me, I want a man about when I'm away so much but lose some privacy when home. A compromise.

As Baldrick mentioned the chickens live there as well, and our veggie patch. We bought a third plot later on and hou can see the old wall going through the chicken run (in cup cake thread).

A disaster in planning really, but as they say, hindsight's a wonderful thing.

Well Mendip, i think you have cleared up one of TDs recent mysteries, namely what happened to Terry57?. He went quiet, came back sounding different and so one concludes you need to stop feeding him Hong Thong and make sure he finishes his jobs for the day before you give him a snifter.

I guess TC must be busy with his Sunday resto review at the moment, so hasn't pounced on this.

Naah, our guy's not an Aussie, he works above 31.53 degrees, not in a union and will bake us a nice rotti even though he's not classified as a baker!

^ Apologies for the anti-Aussie union stuff last night - I had a big stake in a Perth construction company that went to the wall yesterday. Was a bit pissed off. The wife's half Aussie as well which doesn't help at times.

Anyway, I've been feeding our elderly neighbour's dogs for about the last seven years (... its a long story...) and occasionally she gives me a small gift. I feel that I have to accept of course...

I would wager this wasn't genuine Hennessey...

I had one piece of pig's ear dipped in chilli sauce to be polite, but maybe more than one Hennessey...

Another apology, to Dave. I have an old mechanical watch and have been walking round all day thinking it's 31st June. Once I'd realised it was too late to refuse my 'gift'!

    Next time...
