    WTF did I just read

A new candy-sniffing craze can cause maggot infestations in children's noses.

Parents have been warned that the new craze - in which youngsters inhale crushed sweets through their nose - can have a serious impact on their health.
It is believed that flies - attracted to the rotting sugar - are laying eggs inside children's nasal passages.
Health officials say lung infections, septicaemia and internal bleeding could also be caused by snorting candy with tell tale symptoms of use including a gooey discharge and mucus beneath the eyelids.
At this point even sneezing could cause the child to fall seriously ill.
According to the New York Daily News newspaper, a Rhode Island School has already issued a health warning to parents via email to find out if their children can feel a tickling sensation or smell a foul stench, encouraging them take immediate action.
Although sniffing the candy has no addictive or hallucinogenic qualities, hundreds of videos of youngsters doing so have appeared online. The clips - some attracting over 1,000 views - include the children experiencing severe pain and choking.

I thought maggots could only eat rotting flesh , hence their medical use to clean wounds or maybe just a different kind ...

Bull shit. Sugar is used as a preservative in a lot of foods. It doesn't rot, and it certainly doesn't attract flies looking for a place to lay their eggs.

Another stupid internet myth that will be taken seriously by dumbass people.

I remember those. May have led to my more adult abuses in later life, which are now forgotten about.

Remember the pretend cigarettes? My dad would buy me a pack of ten every week. Look at me now, pack a day of B and H.

Hopefully the thought of possible maggots in the nose will help dissuade children from snorting the Smarties."

We live in a very strange world! I wonder if there are many parents who would sit around and watch their kids sniff crushed up candy? Ha Blue, wonder what sort of career Clouffy would have had if he had not buggered his knee up? He had a tremendous scoring record, short but few have beaten.

    Sorry off track!
