Thread: Cell phone craze is driving me crazy.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like everyone is on their phones 24/7 these days.

I like being on my phone now and then, but not all the time. In Korea, people were on them on the buses, trains, and even when walking.

This Christmas I was sitting with five of my nieces and nephews and they were all sitting there on their smartphones on the couch. I was hoping to have a conversation with them, but they were playing games with each other on their phones while being in the same room (these are young adults). I just think the whole craze is ridiculous. For one, real communication is going down the tubes, and secondly, people are getting lazier.

I don't see this technology boom slowing down anytime soon. Are you one of those on the phone all the time, or are you fed up like me by seeing everyone texting/playing games all the time?

End of rant.

I don't know.. I guess I'm just pissed because I can't get my galaxy S2 LTE I got in Korea unlocked here. Im using an old slider phone, a.k.a non smartphone.

Yet seriously I think it has gone so overboard with the phone thing, whatever happened to face to face conversation..that's a thing of the past. Kids are getting fatter too.

I don't think they use skype much even on their phones.

Maybe it's just me that think people are overboard on cell phones. Somtimes I don't even see someones face if I'm sitting on a subway or bus...

playing with their smartphone is an alternative way to face their extreme boredom with themselves and therefore the others

smart people don't need a smartphone to be smart, dumb people do, hence the world being taken over by smartphone, as it should

I'm with Miss traveller on this. It's infuriating in a funny way, that people think that it's normal to be constantly tip-tapping away, heads down, headphones in, laughing out loud (in the cyber way) and tweeting their location, activity and then waiting impatiently for their reply.

I use an old Nokia and my friends know how to contact me (which luckily isn't much). Once I was texting a friend and his last text was ''seeeya at 6pm mate'' so I put my phone away and made my way to meet him. He called me 15mins later to ask me if I got his text saying he'd see me at 6 because I'd not replied. Pathetic.

In the news today a boy threw boiling water over a girls face because she unfriended him on Facebook!
