First things first, is this the right spot for this thread?

No, I would request a move to construction, as per the title.

Have you considered the information and technology thread. And, if you're going to refit the eating bit then you may want to put it in the food thread (depending where you will be sailing dictates the specific subforum). In the meantime, I'd put it in the lounge...

Had a lot of work done in Yacht Haven marina..new teak decks etc by Thai couple woodworking shop.
The management at YH will no doubt direct you to the better trades people. Farang businesses tend to try and fleece you I found.
Stainless steel by a guy in a small workshop Chalong.
Engineering stuff by various shops in Phuket dockyard area.

Sorry should be more specific...by disconnect I mean physically , breakers only dis the power not the ground, the ground is from whence the hi volt damaging feedback comes.

Crepitus, never crossed my mind. shit I had a couple of stainless rails welded onto my stanchions for solar panels. I was pissed off that they used rods and not tig welding. Would never of thought to disconnect the batteries. As they ground out the tig by grounding through the boat. Suppose I dodged a bullet I never knew was being fired. I will remember that one.

So first of all yes I will post lots of pictures. Or I will try. A couple of years ago I did a thread and I can not remember how to do the pics . Like going aback to using DOS after using a ipad.

Maybe I should do it on the Pacific thread as I am heading that way. I have done most of the jobs. Which have cost more some nice houses being built in LOS. Although cheaper than most walls. Lol.

Maybe it should be in construction . Most of the jobs I have done have been the same as on a house but surrounded by water. Anyway now to figure out the pics again. Joy of joy. Breath deep!

Agree, bung it into construction SiT. Apart from anything else if you put it there then it saves me having to go looking for it elsewhere on the forum...

I'm really forward to seeing the project. I spent a fair amount of my youth scraping barnacles off the bottom of boats/painting bilges/fibreglassing/varnishing and other sorts of nautical maintenance activities. Happy, happy days they were.

Fuckin A' This is the place. I've got the sports forum blocked from search results, and although boat building/maintenance/rigging might be a type of construction, it could also be a type of vehicle work, or....

Fucking Lounge material!!! I've lived aboard up in Olymia WA. and in the San Joaquin Delta, done a wooden boat restore and made meager living as a Boat yard dog, in past lives. Let's see what ya got, right here. seems like you already got a thread and audience going. Be a shame to waste it.

    Agreed.

Shame about the usual brain-dead mods though.

As mi mammi used to say "I am trying". I would love to have a place to visit, but KW and Wayne you have an address like next time you are in Canada pop in! Give us a clue as to your area and we will try to make it happen. Wayne your Fiji. Or Micronesia ? KW Indonesia is somewhat of a large place. Remember we travel with the wind.

We will be in and around Fiji for about 2 seasons. Perhaps moving north in Nov 2015 to avoid the windy months. Then towards LOS.

Our plan is to slip the lines at the end of FEB and try and stay alive to get out of the N orthern storms. Hard to travel south as they mostly hit from the south. Then after a haul out around vancouver bc head out in the first weather windowed for the South Pacific french poly in early March.
