Forums are dying...what will you do after?

I think they are slowing, perhaps "dying."

All things change. The allure is not there as much as it used to be. Much, much less.

I am working and interested in learning languages.

Being offline more and off fora more is a good thing for me.

Threads and posts are still getting deleted , theres not so many complaints about deletions because people have given up complaining and the majority of people who "flounced" didnt come back .
I made a thread this week about standing for the National anthem , which people seemed quite interested in , 300 replies in a few days , that thread got deleted.
No reason, no explanation, just disappeared .
I think to myself "Why bother"

The thread was quite good natured , the thread was a about foreigners in Thailand on a forum about foreigners and Thailand .
Some people did disagree with each other, but is that a reason to delete the whole thread ?
I have no idea why the thread was deleted , the only reason that I can think of is that a Mod was shown to be wrong in that thread and for that reason deleted the thread .

Apart from sticking my beak into the cricket thread I have not really been interested in turning my computer on in the last few months.

Do more productive things is probably my best answer to Noon's question, as I have undertaken and achieved over the last few months, but TD has been great with me making a lot of good new friends and meeting some great people away from my computer.

I doubt forums will ever die out but people just get bored with them. I certainly am.

No doubt chat is over-coming the forum style of exchanges. That's to say writing short sentences, or even text-speak, has greater value/more popularity than writing full sentences. And a smart phone does that just fine. So maybe it's a age thing, older folks are full-sentence geezers. As we die off so go the forums.
