What would you choose for your last meal.

What would you choose for your last meal? Final food choices of executed criminals revealed

For me it would probably have to be Roast Lamb with all the trimmings of a traditional Sunday roast.

As I am not on death row, it should be accompanied by a flagon of decent red wine.
Heart of Gold and a Knob of butter.

A massive chicken vindaloo, dessert of a bowl of prunes all washed down with a gallon of Ex-Lax.

Might as well go out with a bang as it were.

Tofu and lentils. Lambast the guards for being overweight, and likely candidates for a coronary.

Yep, a bottle of 2013 Penfolds Grange would do perfectly. But only once it's aged for 40 years.

As for the food, that'd be a dozen NZ bluff oysters on the half shell, Lobster Thermidor with buttered vegetables, and a white chocolate souffle. None of this goes with a red according to "purists" but that might have changed by the time the wine has aged .

I have never understood the last meal thing. I mean they are about to kill you but in some way want to appear civilised about it. Just as they make sure you are 100% fit and healthy before they top you. Strange

^ Fair enough too. Their victims didn't have a last meal choice before their lives changed forever or ended....

Actually, the victim of the murderer, who was the impetus for the law, wouldn't have had the stomach for a last meal anyway: he was decapitated.

I think I would start with an aperitif, a Pernod perhaps. Folding in my fresh linen napkin I would then have tomato soup with a hint of basil, accompanied by crotons lightly fried in garlic oil and sprinkled with parmesan shavings. Then for the main course I would ........ "What do you mean my times up!"

    Hmmmm....

Along the same lines - I'd take a nice homemade pork/wild mushroom Isaan Laap with croquis scented sticky rice. So simple...
