The 1st gen CTS V's didn't even have a chassis. They were uni body construction.

The Vette is a full frame car.
    "Chassis" is a generic term..

    2010 CTS Base "frame"

    2005 C5 Frame:

2014 C7 frame (all aluminum BTW)

    C6 Rolling Chassis:

    CTS Rolling Chassis:

OH! Yeah! I can see the similarities now!

Lesse once you beyond the =fact that they both have engines in front ofhte cab, independent suspension on all four corners, there ain't one fucking thing similar, No Traverse springs on the Caddy, No rear mounted trans on the CTS, Frame work for the rear suspension is completely different. And so on and so on.

Although lessons learned in the evolution of the 'Vette certainly played a role in the design of the CTS, It is an original and most definitely NOT "Based on" the 'Vette in any way.

So, yes, you were wrong. I'm not talking about your minor semantics game here. You posted the CTS "chassis" was based on the Vette's. It isn't.

Some people will call the frame the chassis the cassis is a collection of parts making up the drive train, suspension and mount points for same (frame, etc). I have included examples of frames and so-called rolling chassis for your perusal. The two vehicles are unique and neither is "based on the" other.

Are you talking to me ? I misunderstood you because I agree that the CTS is not a rebodied Vette. The Vette is full frame, composite body. CTS is uni body, steel body

I don't like most american cars either BUT a corvette is a great car, beats those you speak of costing 2-3 times more money, AND gets 30 mpg also. NONE of the big
horsepower cars of Europe can come close and run 200,000 miles trouble free.
Honda and Toyota are top cars in world. Ever see a Ferrari have over 50,000 miles
not often, I have a GSR Acura with 303,000. miles never had head or pan off. Turns 8000 rpm every day. How many cars can do that? gets 30 mpg also, fast & furious.

GM just said they will stop production of the small chev
platform in all of Europe, only car made but cost more is the Opel.
GM is pulling out of Australia completely, been there a long time. Google it.
World is going down the poop chute except for China few eastern countries maybe.

Best engine I had in a car was the BMW Eta 2.7 litre, stroke increased by 6mm from the famous 2.5 litre engine. The electronics restricted the rpm to 4,400 max and it delivered only 121 hp, but massive torque and fuel efficiency, 6 litres per 100 km. You never heared the engine, the sound of the tyres was louder. With its low revs, it could go for millions of miles. Maybe the reason they quit making it.

I dont think any car in US depreciates as fast as a Bimmer, cost lot keep the windows
working and go look at copart auctions and see the low prices they bring. I have a
GSR acura that is faster then my neighbors 128 Bimmer and never haft to work on my
92 GSR with 160 hp. turns 8000 rpm and gets 30 MPG. Corvette beats european cars that cost 2 1/2 times as much. But too big for me. Did you see where the Lotus you show hear with a corvette engine is worlds fastest car at 270 mph. google it some company extended frame and is selling them.
