Thread: rural attire?

so..it is pissing torrential rain, thunder, lightning , road auto lights on...and....

So what is your usual attire in a rural environment..

Sitting here having a few Chang ( "solly Archa finished already")..no neighbors within 2k

So..
me ...boxers if have nuffin to do..if doing some work, old pair of tacky and stinky shorts sans underwear..if brush cutting or diggin frickin holes or...visor,wellies and step kids sweat pants and least smelly old shirt...

wife unit...whatever but mostly just panties and sarong.

'course if we go to market I often shave or maybe shower and we dress up........lol

Flip flops and shorts.

It's getting muddier out there by the minute.

casual - boxers
formal - camo shorts and singlet

Shorts, or fishermen's/Lana trousers and a cotton shirt, sandals, floppy hat.

Formal is black trousers white Lana shirt black shoes and socks, formal is usually funerals and ceremonies, otherwise formal may be Euro style grey, olive or fawn trousers and shirt, grey shoes, but only if it's a wedding or meetings with hi-sos and farang.

how can you guys wear shorts? don't you have any mossies around there?

Swim trunks and tank top. If I have to go out, change swim trunks for shorts and add flip flops.

Nope, it's the price ya pay for hanging out with hi-so Chinese Thais, seems like at least twice a month I have to get dolled up, same goes when I teach, Thais insist on formal clothing.

Anyway, I am a grandad, ya clown!

I don't exactly like wearing formal clothing, but burmese/fisherman trousers or shorts and sandals are frowned on in wats and schools.

Have you ever noticed that teachers have to dress formally and so do funeral or wat ceremony celebrants?

shorts and a t shirt, always sandals unless I am working.

Combat shorts and T-shirt daytime with trainers and socks. Jeans in the evening, mozzies love me.

Yup! Seems there was a lot of requests for "white envelopes," for some reason. I wore my formal 40 baht pair of flip flops to the wake. My serious flip flops 60 baht, to the cremation. Do you think the dead guy cared?

Used to be shorts or cropped trousers, vest top and flip flops. Proper t-shirt & cropped trousers if working in a wat. Always flip flops.

I like the sarong (worn high like a sumo), no underwear, no top, contrasted by cheap plastic flip flops look.
