    Expensive calls ars reports

Heavy cell phone use may raise cancer risk

New research published in the journal Antioxidants and Redox Signaling (ARS) has found that the saliva of frequent cell phone users shows higher oxidative stress, which is considered a risk factor for cancer. Researchers looked at saliva because cell phones are placed close to the salivary glands when in use and they thought that might provide clues about the cancer risk.

For the study, researchers looked at the saliva of 20 patients who frequently talked on their cell phones – a minimum of eight hours a month. Most of the participants spoke on the phone much more, some 30 to 40 hours a month. Their saliva was compared to the control group, which was made up of deaf patients who either didn’t use a cell phone or used it only to text message or do other non-verbal things. Compared to the control group, the heavy-use group had significantly more oxidative stress in their saliva.

Researchers say while their research did not uncover a specific cause and effect, evidence is mounting to suggest that extensive cell phone use could be harmful in the long-term.

it is known (scientific), that cattle aligns with the magnetic field of the earth (north-south-axis)...
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18725629/

it has been also shown, that electricity and mobile sending poles DISRUPT their (natural) behaviour...

faik there has been no compass or similar thing found in cattle yet...

so why shouldnt also humans react to magnetic fields and - of course - other frequency fields...?

hey, what did we laugh at "electro smog" and stuff...
or the groups claiming, it is possible to sense the electric/magnetic fields (also water) with a pair of sticks...

whether anyone indeed can or not, but in theory it doesnt seem impossible...
and there is at least more evidence, that those fields impact humans as well, than there is counterevidence...

You know it gets confusing because one week there's a news paper artical saying something is deadly and the next week its good for you. Well this type of research is the reason why, it involves 20 people, so the chances that their significant effect being caused by random chance is extremely high.... even if they do everything else right which is unlikely.

These small studies are more often wrong than they are right. this is why its necessary to do large studies involving 100's-10,000s of people at much greater expense. In fact the only this these papers are fit for is to persuade funding councils that there is an effect here that's worth investigating... give us the money too do it. Getting it in the paper helps a bit; but as for enlightening the public to the truth so they can make informed choices they are not much better than asking a question and flipping a coin.

Sorting wheat from chaff can be hard, but this summary of some research into why so many medical papers turn out to be plain wrong is good starting point
