Thieves, mugs and inverse relationship between sense and financial status

I watched this documentary today. I'd urge you to skim watch it as it is painful to watch such a painfully easily led person and slow to the point of inertia.

But it always make me wonder how people that are able to reach such a point in life career wise and financially and yet be so fvcking stupid.

It's a warning to anybody stupid enough to consider giving their hard earned to anyone.

I had the exact same call (for the 1st time) a few days ago. By the time the cvntface had finished his opening pitch I was literally shaking with anger and told him he would be wise to cross me off his list and not call again.

Don't be mugged off guys. Any fvcker can put up 2-3 websites with HSBC logos and shit in a few hours.

This applies to the legitimate offers too, not only the boiler room ones.

When I was about 12 my dad told me I should think about getting a pension. Even then, i remember telling him

"you know the bankers that sell you that shitty policy all drive porshes and mercs, where do you think you get the money from?"

I got told off for being a schmuck - but sure enough he got well shafted on his pension like millions of others (20k guaranteed 20 years before taking it... got offered 6k

Keep your money in the bank or in property - if you give it to some cvnt that phones you out of the blue - it's your own greed that will be your downfall

I watched this last week, he didn't even find them at the end. He got a bit close, but he was a bit scared. His forays into HSBC barely got beyond the incompetent reception staff, if I'd lost that much money I'd have at least made an appointment, then again it wasn't the banks fault. His choice of complicated wording was quite stupid, too. Knowing the staff couldn't speak english he hardly changed to pidgin english at all, so what did he expect? Western superiority syndrome.

And like you say, if he was such a successful financially sound guy, how can he fall for a cold call scam like this? Nobody deserves this but it was hard to feel sorry for him towards the end.

If he'd have been more resonable in his visits to the bank, he'd have got into see a supervisor for sure. If you're rude or obnoxious at reception, they'll just make sure you don't see anyone full stop. What did he expect? them to hand over money straight away?

I reckon he knew that if he did see anyone with half a brain at HSBC, they'd just laugh him out of there for being so stupid. He just wanted to make it look like they were privy to the scam.

If you'd watched it properly, and not been in a drunken stupor on the floor, shagging your cousin up the gary or whatever it is you do, you would have heard him say that before he went to Hong Kong he called, e-mailed and faxed asking for a meeting but they did not even respond.

Alright, I'm not giving it a second viewing to verify that, but I can believe that he probably made a dozen appointments but I'm surprised they didn't get back to him, something you'd expect in Thailand not a former British Colonial territory.

I was too out of it to notice, sorry, and my cousins arse in my face didn't help either.
An experienced businessman should be aware of low level staff and their inability to speak english. He was going too fast for them. He should have slowed down, smiled and explained slowly and clearly, making use of hand signals if required.

I get what you're saying Pat, but please tell me what the hand signal is for "Some cnut conned me outta loads of dosh and he has an account here"

The hand signal would be when describes himself to them, as in 'wanker'
