Are you unaware of the estimated 20 Million Mexicans illegally in the USA with no Visa whatsoever or the estimated 800 000 illegal immigrants in the UK with no valid Visa?

In the case of tourists, the example you raised when you said that millions are entering the country and you cant imagine they all always register at the police station - my point is that they do not need to register there, as the hotels take care of registration. Which made your point of comparing your situation to all these millions, invalid.
Tourists do not need to register at the police station, as their registration is already been taken care of.
You appearantly have to register yourself, as you dont stay in a hotel.
Come on Fluke, this is just standard procedure in many countries. Including TH, including the Netherlands, likely including your own country of birth as well.
No, I am staying within the law , there was no law saying how many consecutive 15 Visas you can have .
I have stayed within the law , you are staying that I should become a criminal by paying bribes .
Paying bribes to Police is a criminal offence in Thailand , having a vaild visa isnt an offence .
This is completely besides the point. These people are indeed staying illegal. Their host countries did in fact not allow them in. So they are illegal. With all problems associated with that, such as exploitation by employers, the ever existing risk of being caught and send back, and so on.
They are illegal, and I fail to see how that relates to you, since you are telling me that you have entered the country legally.
So your argument seems completely besides the point.
I consider our case closed Fluke.
Think it's supposed to work this way, a hotel etc you register and they do the paper work for the law requirements. If you live in a private house you are supposed to inform the police of your address in Thailand.
Do many do it when visiting a friend, no, should they, yes. I don't even fill in the hotel registration when I go to town anymore. They just give me a key and I pay when I leave.
I'm not registered with the local cops and I don't live where I'm registered by the Amphor. Long story, but it's the way it's done and I just let the locals do as they see fit. Jim
Nobody bothers about visits of course although we are meant to report if away from home for 24 hours. But they do expect you to register your permanent address with immigration and when you move within 24 hours. I moved in April and had to take the wife and blue book to prove address. When I went again for an extension they asked me what date I had moved again. So it's not an unfollowed rule, in Bkk at least. Sure you do not have to bother, or lie, but then you would not be following the rules.
It doesnt matter whether the hotel registers them or whether they do it themselves personally , they still would need to be registered .
I dont believe that every hotel, motel, Guest house in Thailand could inform the local Police station of every new arrival every day .
I was replying to you question about whether Western Countries would allow visitors to exploit their immigration rules and I was giving you examples of how Western Countries allow visitors to exploit immigration rules .
By not clamping down on illegal immigrants and deporting them , western Countries allow visitors to exploit the immigration rules
Just seem this Someone earlier stated that Immigration officials can withdraw a visa any time they like for no reason.......the law actually says.....
Section 36 :
Where there is a proper reason , the Director General or the Immigration Commission shall
have power to revoke permission previously authoriz
ed the alien to stay temporary in the Kingdom ,
whether or not the Director General , or the offici
al deputized by the Director General , has granted such
permission.
In the case the Director General has ordered permission to be revoked , the alien whose
permission has been revoked may appeal such orders
to the Immigration Commission. Order of the
Immigration Commission will be final.
The appeal of the Director General’s order unde
r paragraph 2 of this Section shall be submitted
to the competent official within forty – eight hours fr
om the time of acknowledgement of such order from
the Director General and must be complied with from and fees as prescribed in the Ministerial
Regulations
Didn't say that you had to register, just that you didn't attend the Immigration Office to find out the result.
They may have just forgotten the encounter or they could just flag you for suspicious movements, up to them. You won't know until you do a border run . then if you start getting the look you will know.
Thai way, don't disrespect Government Officials, you do so at your own peril.
There are laws and there are codes of conduct and the codes of conduct often out weight the laws.
If you have a Thai friend of standing, go to Immigration and sort it out. Couldn't watch the vid, nets to slow, but did they request you to attend the Immigration Office or instruct you to attend. Big difference, step carefully and don't dig holes. Jim
He is going Monday to get an extension. This will be the make or break day. Nothing, he was right. Something I hope he posts back.Quote:

It was an off-hand "You have to go to CS immigration then, if you wont pay me"
No appointment was made and they wouldnt have been expecting me there.
They were just empty words by him .
I really dont think that anyone will be concerned about this episode, which in reality, is quite trivial , Im sure that everyone at Immi has more pressing things to deal with
Even when right things can go wrong, spent near on a hour with what looked like a bunch of Generals staring at me, it was the lost passport and the computers where not working properly. They had to do the checks by phone, thought they were going to bring in the car battery for further interrogation, after 20 minutes or so.
Checks all came back clear, lots of smiles and no problem.
You never know what a data base says and it only takes one person to enter something that raises alarm bells.
I have just found it easier here to go and see the people in charge, be it cops, immigration , local or bigger Government and sort it out before there is a problem. Jim
yup well summed up...being arrogant with any official in any country just asks for trouble..Hard to bite you're lip obviously but alienation will remain and can bite you in the arse. Better go kick the cat or rant on a forum.
Met a new police chief in local noodle shop some years back..invited me to a resort for his welcome party...did not want go but wife said "very ugly you not go".
Anyways went and he gave me his card "....if I ever have any problems"
Always get a smile and nod from local police now..but they still fine the unlicensed wife on her unregistered bike ............ no helmet 100bt ...lol
I can see Fluke ending up face down in a khlong somewhere soon with a big hole in his head
I flash my teacher's license card any and every time I'm asked for ID, except when at Immigration. Never carry my passport or a copy, don't reach for the driver license. It stops any shadiness from cops, other government offices and whatnot dead in its tracks. Instant respect. Mine's real, but I'd seriously suggest getting a fake one, OP. Wouldn't be difficult to forge at all, and worth its weight in gold.
I gotta ask; how do you "sheep-like-sock-puppet-wanna-b-thai-foreigners" manage to live here without a frickin' spine? The incessant "we must walk on eggshells", "we must not upset the thais" is as pathetic as the "we are guests here" line of bullshit. The "we are not thai", "this is their country" attitude is what allows these people to continue to act like their shit doesn't stink or like they don't sit to shit the same as everyone else. All the steppin'-n-fetchin' foreigners living here seem to do and to advocate is just down right pathetic. Christ how did all you manage to live so long being so fucking pansy-assed? If you have a valid stamp to be here, whether it's a visa exempt, a tourist visa or a yearly extension of stay, for christ sakes act like you're allowed to be here!
"Fluke" follows the visa laws as they are written. That they are written so poorly and worded so ambiguously that there's a loophole where a person can come back repeatedly on a 15 day visa exempt entry is not "Fluke's" fault. It's the thais fault. That there is no "real rule" written saying how many times back to back you can do this, is again the thais fault NOT the person who is following the poorly written rules. Why should he be "called on the carpet" for following the rules as they're written?
Unfortunately the video was taken down, but I'd sure like to see it. If I had to weigh in I'd trust "taxexile" translations.. I'd hafta see the video because in Thai context is everything and depending on what's goin' on, how things are phrased, a sentence can warp meaning quite a bit.. Still it sounds as though it was a "close scrutiny" of a foreigner who is totally legal and allowed to be here. I'd bet once they saw all the 15 day visa exempt stamps they went on a "fishing expedition" to see how gullible "Fluke" was. I wouldn't waste another second worrying about it, nor would I "run to immigrations" to see if there was a problem, no matter what they “suggested” you do..
Most of the "we're gonna get your information on the computer and cause a problem for you at the border blah-blah-blah" is total bullshit. I can't even count the number of times foreigners have come to the Police Station where I volunteer and asked to see if they're on some mythical "watch list" or black listed. Usually because they had a run in with some thai or another (even thais in uniform) who threatened them with some nonsense like that.
As I said, I'd sure like to see the video myself, but it's probably best the O/P pulled it.. In my experience thais are a pretty vindictive, petty, back-biting, narrow minded race o' people.
I think it's much ado about nothing. It sure brought out the “foreign sheep-like-sock-puppet” brigade...
5555+!! That's a funny line from "gaysexbyproxy"; "I flash my teacher's license card any and every time I'm asked for ID".. Hanging around the wrong areas, with the wrong people, at the wrong times are you? Sure glad your 'teacher's license" is real, and that you're proud to beat the drum you have one. However urging people to get a fake one crosses the line of common sense, especially coming from someone who alleges to be a 'teacher'. Getting a “real” Thai driver's licenses might possibly be a better choice than getting a “fake” teacher’s license..
Thanks .
If you want to see the video, Ill upload it and PM you a link, then Ill delete it again afterwards .
You sure about that Fluke
I wouldnt trust any of those cock sucking Police volunteersQuote:
