Sorry to disappoint. The OP asks worst country you visited. As I don't hate any of the countries I have lived and worked, took Worst as most disappointing. In that regard, Australia is it. When you grow up in blighty and see images of Mick Dundee, les patterson, Alf Stuart, etc and you imagine this rough tough country and are confronted with cities full of man bag toting rocket salad eating metrosexuals, it is a bit of a let down. I vouchsafed this by saying that I liked hobart and also there was a rock Bar in Eden, Weecoon Cove, that was a great laugh as well.

Of all the countries I have lived and visited, Australia is the one I am least likely to return to. Sorry.

I was in Tijuana two days ago. All the bad press it gets ... just seemed like the regular ol' Tijuana we always loved and admired. Obviously I wasn't decapitated. Did arrive too early for the donkey show tho.
Heard the Blue Note burned down years ago...

Oz has islands of culture. You just have to search them out.
You do have a good point though. I got reverse culture shock coming back here....and continue to have it.
The countryside is great. We have both rainforest and snow-capped mountains, deserts, the Great Barrier Reef, whale watching, great fishing, vinyards etc etc.
Even many "ockers" (typical hick Aussies) can be nice blokes, if you can stay upwind of their cigarette smoke.

The countryside is Australia is excellent. Great wildlife and beautiful scenery. Frazier Island has the best unspoiled beach I have ever seen.

Can't say I have anything bad to say about Australia or Australians.

Oh. One thing bad. A thief broke into my hotel room in Glebe and stole a camera. Stole the cheap camera, not the expensive video camera. Must have been a junkie.

The only feature I find a little stinky about Ozlanders is how conservative they are.

    The wildlife gets an A+.
The beaches look okay to me.
The reef is a wonder of the world.
    They talk pretty cool too.
I used to think they were a fit people but I hear that's all changed.
    Oh, good yachtsmen too.

Funny how people generalize. Yes....in modern times there are more fat people here, as in other Western countries. And I'm surprised at how many smokers are here. But fit people abound too.

Yes, Misskit...Fraser Island is amazing. Large stands of rainforest ( amazingly, living atop sand ) and other forest cover, with lakes perched on sand dunes. Some of the purest water in the world seeps down through the sand.

Spectacular sandblows demonstrate the ongoing geological processes for which Fraser Island was given World Heritage status.

Lake Wabby, the island's only barrage lake and a sacred men's area to the Butchulla people, is being swallowed by Hammerstone Sandblow at about one metre each year.

    Lake Mackenzie

Mate, England is a fookin fantastic place to visit. So much history. From the Romans to the Normans just about anyone who was anyone in the day went there and kicked their arse and there's bits of it left all over.
Museums in London, it's almost worth the trip just to go to the Imperial War museum.
Most of the cities are abit naff, but the countryside is stunning, specially the squiggley bits around the coast.
Start at Landsend, grab yourself a camper and work your way to Scotland. You would have a ball.

I wouldn't mind living in Switzerland if it was closer to the Equator and had more Asian women and had lower taxes.
It gets up to 30 degrees in the summer, lots of asian ladies, there is even a Thai karaoke bar!!!

    Dave,

If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.

I felt the same about China. Only lasted 3 days. I had been in Taiwan, where the people are the nicest Chinese I've met anywhere.....they are famous for having sincere hearts.

The mainland Chinese want it back, so they can deal with that problem by means of proper education and cultural immersion.......a bit like Tibet....

It ain't bad in the daytime. Disco wars at night.

Monterrey might be the worst city in Mexico, dusty, dry, super noisy. The horn-honking capitol of the World.

I've been over to TJ a couple of times to buy alcohol with friends living in San Diego. It was a bit grubby but not scary. I've seen worse.

Border towns anywhere in the world seem to be inhabited by strange and desperate people, IMO.

I'm sure they don't all have sincere hearts..haha. Mind you, I know a few very nice Taiwanese people.

Worst place would have to be Kuwait. If you are anywhere outside of the city, it is a dustbowl. Most of the people that work in the service industry are from SouthEast Asia. They are the people that slave away under the rule of the Kuwaitis. Kuwait is just boring and you can't drink (unless you smuggle alcohol in or pay a fortune in the black market).

Bahrain gets my vote, if anyone is unfortuneate to have a work permit there then it is to the back of the line at the airport for a thorough search through your personals.
The creepy hypocties want to find porn, Playboy mags but after finding intimate pictures of my partner they said ' no no - muslim country', so i asked if they could rip up the pictures - they didn't, fucking slimeball hypocrit perverts.
